Leon Clarke - What's made him what he is?

Recommended Posts

Wilder, as someone has said has a lot to do with it.....also he's gone through mental & physical changes since he was with us, what happened with his dad I guess has focused his mind plus he's a fair bit fitter/lighter than he was....he always had the skills, showed that even with us in glimpses, anyway good luck t'lad, shame it's with them but no point getting all mardy about it is there.

Chris Wilder is the reason it’s clicked for him, puts so much confidence into his players, hate to say it but he’s one hell of a manager

A massive reason yes, Wilder scares me in terms of what he might do at S2, hopefully he's not as good as what a lot of people are starting to believe but....I think most of us know he probably is, lets hope he goes somewhere else.

It's not as if he was shyte for us.

That is a myth.

He was unplayable on a number of occasions for us too- and had obvious talent as a striker. But now he has a team around him and a positive manager he has finally realised his full potential and found consistency..

Not a myth as such, more of an exaggeration....he was dire for us at times then like you say unplayable, it just wasn't the right time or manager for him to do what he's doing now with us.

He's found a team that plays to his strengths - scores after 6mins - we'd still be passing it around the bermuda triangle of Lees Loovens and Westwood.

Bang on

He's been acquired by a manager who knows what he is good at.   He's had in him right from his wolves days it was a case of when he would consistently focus on his talent.
