East Yorks Owl
Reading the Guardian article I hadn’t appreciated Nick Clegg’s support for the club by negotiating with the Co-op Bank. I can’t say I’m that keen on Clegg, largely due to his constant moaning about Brexit, but if he helped our club during this difficult time then fair play to him. Friend of mine who is quite a senior civil servant in the Business department told me there was pretty considerable irritation about Clegg's insistence that officials get involved in this, and that for some time it became a favourite example of how personal ministerial hobby horses stopped civil servants doing the things that really they ought to have been doing.
