George Hirst

Recommended Posts

Hang on a minute, there is no guarantee he will have a great career but would we have liked to have missed out on his day at his age just because of a contract issue. At the moment he's one of the hottest prospect s in English football at his age. Trying/hoping he stays is in the club's interest. Once he goes how much would a player with his potential cost. Criticizing people for hoping he stays is just  small minded testicles. I'm annoyed his dad doesn't seem to be bothered about our club but you can't blame him wanting the best for his son.

Its something for the moaners to cling onto and keep having a go at the club.

Shows how thick some are when they are questioning if he has received a contract offer yet when the player has already rejected one.

FFS for the last time try to understand in simple terms. George Hirst has rejected a New contract offer that the chairman thinks is fair but George and his advisors dont and want more, K.Lee, T.Lees, K.Westwood and even F.Forestieri signed the new contracts DC offered so pretty fair to say the offer will be very good.

Needs to sign then prove himself like tge players mentioned then he would get an improved contract like the players mentioned again or a big move.

The players you mention are good for us but don't get the attention of the club's he has. He's a bargain, if he DOES become a top player. Short term thinking. If he turns down any contract with us then fair enough.

Not really.  It would serve no purpose to anyone.

I disagree

For a start it would suggest a compromise had been reached

He could then get some U23 games under his belt, go out on loan in January and have his situation reassessed in May without the risk of losing him to some foreign club for nothing or a PL club for whatever fee the tribunal happen to dream up

I’ve seen what Chansiri thinks is fair - nigh on £50 for Second Division football.

lol

This is one of those tweets...

If he'd been securely signed up we'd all be agreeing that it was a bit of light hearted banter about the kit farce and it would be getting liked. Or whatever the twitter equivalent is.

That's  possibly is how it's intended.

The contract shadow means it can easily be read anyway we choose though, depending which side of the fence people have settled into.

I was only thinking earlier that we needed another George Hirst thread.

Never in the history of football has one lad with a couple of substitute appearance in Division 2 generated so much debate.

Hate to be pedantic, but only 1 appearance Division 2
