Ibbo48
11 Mar 1961 Wolves 0-0 Stood on the old Leppings Lane with my Dad. My abiding memory was coming round the corner and seeing how green the grass was. Strange. It wasn’t like I’d not seen grass before. Then there was the huge cloud of smoke from thousands of cigs rising into the air whilst a brass band broke into ‘Nimrod’. Stirring stuff. Some legendary players in that team but not the best match. Think the result that day was secondary to the experience.

Guest Copthorneowl
I was 8 first game 1956 so that's 61 years and in those late 50's early to mid 60's nobody came to Hillsborough expecting a point they only hoped to avoid a hammering. Bobster01
Dad remembers going Spurs Notts Forest FA Cup semi final 1961 when he was three, his first Wednesday game he can remember is losing at home to Arsenal 5-0. So he's been following wednesday for 56 years and been to 65 out the 92 football league grounds.

prowl
I'm 62, I was told I went to a match with my granddad when I was a couple of months old. My mum was frantic with worry the whole time. I wish I could say I can remember it but I can't. I started going with my dad when I was about 5 and started going with my mate Dave at about 8, he was a bit older than me. If we hadn't got any money we would stand outside the ground to listen to the crowd and then sneak in when they opened the gates 15 minutes before the end. Sometimes the stewards would let us sneak under the turnstiles when the games had started. We didn't live far from the ground so some of the stewards knew our parents.
