The first 15 minutes against Derby Country could decide everything

One thing is for absolutely certain. Sheffield Wednesday need to come out of the blocks flying at Derby County.

The first 15 minutes could decide the Owls season. They could decide whether or not Carlos Carvalhal is replaced, could decide which players are sold in January, and could decide whether or not the club is promoted or not.

The reason?

Simply that Wednesday are under a serious amount of pressure to turn things around, and there's a similar amount of pressure to start games better

STATISTIC - No team in the Championship has conceded more goals (5) than SWFC in the first 15min this season.

All too often results have been decided by just how quickly Sheffield Wednesday get going in games. The team has a tendency to go a goal or two down before kicking into action in the second half and trying to stage a comeback

Manager Carlos Carvalhal is adamant that he doesn't send his team out to start slowly, although the question could be asked what is it that takes place in the dressing room at half time after a slow start to get them going and why doesn't it work before kickoff at the start of each game?

Start off slow and go a goal down at Derby County and things could get very sticky for Carlos Carvalhal and his team.

Start off on fire with fast, attacking, entertaining football and the team has every chance of turning this season around and pushing on to the playoffs and potential promotion.

The first 15 minutes are more important than you might think
