Carlos Carvalhal "Bolton will play for the lives"

Recommended Posts

Bolton will play for there lifes? well they must have at least 8 lifes as its 8 straight losses and 8 games without a goal so there not doing a very good job  are they., similar tactics to game at  burton and we might lose 1-0  look how villa and wolves went to burton and showed how its done by putting 4 past em ,that's what we need to do 2moro ,no excuses .

Yes we know Carlos. Birmingham were the same the week before they shipped 6. Tough teams in your head.

Stop with the excuses and go into a game with confidence and attacking intent for once.

Spot on mate

Carlos puts the players on the backfoot straight from the kick off with comments like this. He should be saying we don't take anything for granted but if we play to our potential we expect a positive result. Bigging up the opposition all the time has to put negative thoughts into the players heads.

Lets be honest Bolton are dreadfull and there for the taking as we're Birmingham.

I will accept nothing less than a very convincing win.

This is exactly the type of game we lose purely because of how the team is set up.

Tomorrow night we’ll all want a change of manager again.

Tbf its exactly the type of game we've been losing for the last 20 years.

Always said if your on a bad run Wednesday is the team you want to face.

Not really sure Carlos says anything different before any game really. It's all pretty samey, with the odd bizarre metaphor or a bit of angry origami thrown in... Don't think people need to be reading too much into this.

For me, the time for saying all the right stuff has been and gone. Carlos has managed to retain the support of the majority based on the team's performance against L**ds a fortnight ago. We have to build on that on the field starting tomorrow.

Whatever is said in press conferences, is bluster and worthless either way.

Absolutely right mate. Can’t believe the amount going into meltdown because he’s been respectful to the opposition.

The match is all that matters. We all know how Carlos’ brain works now and most of us could predict word for word what he’ll say at every press conference. The unpredictable feature is the performance, and that can’t be the case for too much longer.

Theres no easy games, yes Id expect to win this one given the table and boltons recent form, but weve a history against the so called weaker sides in this division under Carlos, and Im pretty sure the Machine will be well up for this game, hasnt he got the best shots on target ratio in the division?

Its another banana skin,if we play like we did that 1st half down at Cardiff wel be ok,if we go into our shell like the brum game then it maybe a long old day, like any away game it depends which Wednesday turns up!

It's no secret tho is it .

If teams sit off us or try and play football against us then we are fine.

If teams play a physical game, like Burton, or get at us with pace like Brentford did at our place we struggle.

These appear to be the things that matter, not where the team sits in the table.

You only have to look at the Leeds game. Last season they beat us easily at Hillsborough with a physical, running game. This season they were a lightweight footballing team and got stuffed

Bolton will play a physical game and we need to overcome it.

In fairness, up to the last minute equaliser at Cardiff CC had got the team on a good run. Then the debacle v the pigs (admittedly his fault) and the hangover against Brum. But he blew off the pressure to get back on track against Leeds and over the period we can see this as a good run with a bit of a blip in it. But reasons to be optimistic. It's good that CC is wary of Bolton - we don't want him caught cold again against a team that "want it more".

Except he did get caught cold again against a team that was playing "for their lives".

Against teams that try to take us on playing football we win. Against teams that harry us, bully us out of our stride we struggle and are found wanting defensively. CC has still not solved that and fast running out of time before our shot at promotion fades away. He needs a plan to tackle this and really needs to start picking Loovens to steady the ship. Time to polish up Van Aken's game later.
