Think the first one caught him by surprise,  the cross seemed to evade everybody and reached him at the back post and he fluffed it. Probably should be anticipating it better though. Then he completely missed 2 more decent crosses, then had the one with the soft header that should probably have been better.

lol how was the soft header a probably should have been better? That's a sitter all day long.

This should de-bunk the myth that we're a team that doesn't supply strikers with crosses

Just wondering why a 'prolific' goalscorer relies solely on crosses. I think that's a myth and an excuse in support of JR for his lack of goals to be honest.

Maybe he's just not good enough?

And hasn't been for the last 2 years?

Just saying like.

It's exactly this, said it before he arrived. Move him on in January and lets put some trust in Joao

He's a bit rusty and the one at the back post may have took a deflection so will give him benefit of doubt but the header he bottled it massively

Come on rocket....be fair. If he isn't playing and getting an regular understanding with another striker then he will be lucky to get anything out of a game.

The problem is that there has been TOO much expectation of Rhodes. When he scored his goals for Huddersfield and Blackburn he was playing almost every game. He probably had a settled strike partner in a team and tactics that was centred around him and how he played. He has never had that since he joined us.

The other problem may be that Carlos never wanted him? Carlos has always favoured Fletcher and Hooper.  On recent form he has been right. But and it's a big but for me has Carlos really played Rhodes in the right tactics and instructed the team to execute the tactics to get the best out of Rhodes undoubted talent.

Do you think there is any resentment within the squad against Rhodes?

Just asking.

You've been a constant supporter of Rhodes and fair enough, I've been the opposite. You must surely be starting to wonder wether I have been right all along.

Rhodes can only score goals. He's not a great footballer. He can't influence a game like Hooper or Fernando can. For us he's not scoring goals and therefore we are playing with 10 when he's on. He's had enough chances it's a myth to suggest he hasn't. He's had another 45 minutes today. He's had crosses he's had everything's striker would ask for and yet he still looked miles off the Rhodes from the past.

When Rhodes was scoring goals for Blackburn what did they ever achieve? There is a reason why Premier league teams didn't sign him and it's because he's not a very good football player. Just simply scoring isn't enough anymore. The championship is a second premier league now - it's moved on from when he was decent. I genuinely don't know why anyone would want Rhodes to be given a run of games - he had this last season and didn't do anything. He's done absolutely nothing this season with his game time.

To me he looks like his legs have gone.
