Sheffield Wednesday Chairman to answer questions publically

Recommended Posts

As part of Sheffield Wednesday’s open door policy, the club are inviting supporters to send in questions publically answered by Dejphon Chansiri.

The Owls’ chairman hosts regular Steering Group Meetings together with open fans’ forums and is now extending the club’s communication policy across the board.

To that end, we are asking Wednesdayites to send in their questions on any given Owls subject that the chairman will answer, where possible and within reason.

Simply craft your question, together with providing your official club ID number for verification purposes, and send to website@swfc.co.uk

Mr Chansiri will endeavour to answer the most pertinent questions in an open and honest fashion.

No subject is off topic, however big or small, and we look forward to receiving your queries.

Over the course of the next week, we will collate your questions and the answers will be published in an extensive feature by the end of October.

What's the plan?

Why so many scarves offered on club shop website?

What are youth development infrastructure plans for next five and ten years, and what level of investment is there likely to be in (£) pounds?

How will you mitigate the increased financial risk now loaded onto the clubs operating budget associated with "advanced ticket sales", in the possible event that promotion is not secured in the next three financial years?

What lessons have been learnt from the current kit fiasco, and what will you do differently to ensure it is not repeated next year?

Why does club shop stock in "leisure wear" remind me of a Mike Ashley stock clearance catalogue?

Etc.

With Sheffield and South Yorkshire being one of the most economic deprived areas in the county if not Western Europe how can the highest ticket prices in the league and 1867 Membership scheme be justified when many members of the Sheffield Wednesday family cant afford to attend games anymore?

I can answer that.

20,000 fans at £20 = £400,000
20,000 fans at £40 = £800,000

£200,000 difference per game

Over 20 games = 4 MILLION POUNDS - nearly enough to buy a dream scene canvas, a new anniversary watch and some cakeball

1. Many clubs have a celebration game to celebrate a big anniversary and plan for this well in advance of the date, why has this not happened for the clubs 150th Anniversary?

2. You say you are respectful of the clubs history with this in mind please explain the move away from the traditional blue and white stripes which many supporters see as integral to the clubs identity and history.

3. I do not expect Chansiri to comment on team selection matters but who is in charge of recruitment of players and who has the final say in transfers?
