The father of one of my friends always used to say he wanted to see Roly Poly Alice before he died. One day she asked him who the feck Roly Poly Alice was. "Them there lights in the sky at the North pole", he answered in all seriousness. lol True story but no photos. lol

I had a mate who used to say at Easter it was all about the re erection of Christ.

Although not a player, Milan Manderic used to and still does irritate me. It's not difficult especially when the poster before you has written Mandaric.

As OwlofOliveGrove mentioned Nuhiu and Joao are commonly wrong.

Outside of Wednesday, Alan Green on Five Live says Della Alli. He could just say Alli but each time insists on saying his full name incorrectly.

I can't take any one seriously who after over 4 years of him being here they can't pronounce Atdhe Nuhiu correctly.

Can't stand it when people on football heaven say "carvaliho" or something equally as stupid. Also "Big Dave".

that's him ...well done ........I can still hear him now with " with Wednesday were grateful to stuart McCall popping up with a last minute equaliser ".....which was amazing since he played for everton

The thing I can never forget is he always pronounced us extremely phonetically as "Wed-ens-day" :columbo:

That's how it's pronounced in Cornwall

We used to have mate who called Ante Mirocevic, the Yugobarmian.  Mind you he used always call me Gerald, even though my name is Cliff.

Was always called 'The Yoog' by the man sitting near me.

Does my crust in.

Listening to RS this morning and whoever was reading the sports report introduced a clip from an interview with "Rotherham United's Richard Woods"... It's Richard Wood!!! FFS!!

I used to sit near a bloke on the kop who continually referred to our goalkeeper as Chris Wood.

Is it just Wood(s) people have trouble with?

What other players names over the years have people continually got wrong?

Does it wind you up? Or do I just need to get over it?

NOTTS forest is one, its like calling the other team NOTTINGHAM County

Never heard an Arsenal fan get the name of their manager right yet. I mean, he's only been there about 40 years for gods sake. :goalie:

When I wrote the OP, I thought this would be one of the first responses.

I'm disappointed in everyone else, but pleased that you didn't let yourself down.
