Hate it all...us and Utd calling each other 'pigs' and Leeds 'Weeds' etc seems very playground behaviour. My brother says it and makes me squirm every time. Grown men resorting to name calling. Just very very odd, in my opinion. Enjoy a rivalry but can't get involved in that side of it.

A little bit of me dies inside every time someone on here calls them 'Weeds '. It's as eye-gougingly cringeworthy as other clubs calling us 'Wendies'.

Has anyone ever actually called them that out loud without vomiting due to the sheer embarrassment of it all?

Totally agree.  Also hate Blunts and (Nottingham) Florest I think it is as well.

All relatively recent and totalshite.

I was told years ago whilst eating Skate by a well informed Gent ..

That it was and still is illegal for anyone to carry a whole skate on UK mainland

Always was a bit of a "Count" my mate..

Good jobs the sailors were off the UK Mainland then! No harm done.

I'd only ever seen "Wendies" written down until last year when a Huddersfield fan used it when talking to me; "You Wendies...".  I was baffled by it.

The whole pigs thing has been done to death but kind of makes sense and is a clear insult.  Blunts similarly, a bit of a play on words that has derogatory connotations.  But Wendies?  Just odd.

Wendies obviously coined by some dingle with a speech impediment unable to correctly pronounce Wednesday due to them being a 4th generation inbred!
