@owlstalk
Anyone remember when a Sheffield Wednesday fan knitted Mick Prendergast a wooly jumper to keep him warm in winter? Owlstalk Shop
DENABY_OWL
Legend.... a top man who sadly loved the club more than it loved him.
Hirstys Salopettes
Indeed. My dad (from Denaby originally) knew Prendo. What that man went through for the cause was incredible. I was born in 1972 and so didnt see much of his career, though remember my dad taking me to his testimonial. They don't make footballers like him nowadays. fredmciverslovechild
Remember when he broke his leg at Preston. Could clearly hear the crack even though it happened at the other end of the pitch. He wasn't the greatest of players but for effort, commitment and what he went through he's up there with the best.
NHOwl
I was also at Preston and remember that incident. I was in the stand near the end where it happened. On a much brighter note I remember the second goal he scored at Notts County in a 5-1 win, a majestic 25-yard strike from a standing position to put us 3-0 up before half-time. One of my favourite players as a kid.
