How are the club harming his development when the contract offer went along with a pledge to send him out on loan so that he could continue his development. However it appears that the young Mr Hirst has been advised not to sign the contract and therefore is putting himself in limbo for a year where he will play little competitive football.

Therefore money has been put before his development and I'm not sure the club is at fault here - bear in mind that we do pay wages at the top end of the Championship level and so it should be reasonable to assume he has been given a relatively generous offer.

He has a contract for this year which when it was signed was described by the club as a deal to "continue his development" not "put his career in limbo" if he will not sign another contract. It's simple, any business that takes deliberate action to harm the development of an 18 year old ought to ashamed.

That's ridiculous why would the club do that?

What should the club do with him then?

Do you think we should invest time into his development when his Dad has told him not to sign another deal? Would you be so concerned if the kid was the lovechild of Kim Olsen & Diane Abbott?

And make us look a reasonable bet for other young players.

Sorry Ricky, we are at last being dragged into the 21st century of business, we've still got some way to go as yet but we are moving in the right direction. Your argument doesn't stand up because all the other young players with any prospect would look to do exactly the same as GH. So,it may not suit him or his dad but that's just tough sh it.

You can see the message now....

Dear Carlos, I know that we have several established strikers/goalscorers in the team like Nuhiu, Joao, Forestieri, Fletcher and Hooper, but I thought that rather than spend most of it on two centre halves, two wingers and a central midfield player, I would rather spend most of the £15M we were talking about the other day on a couple of strikers and you can help us to negotiate loans with options to buy and spend the change on the other players we need. Jordan Rhodes has scored lots of goals and Sam Winnall is the second highest scorer in the league right now, so I know you will not mind. We will be top of the division by October lol. Love and best wishes......

Who's that message from?

Not to mention how pi ssed off the current strikers would be, which is probably the only area of the pitch where we don't have a major issue. Pick GH over them and we soon would have.

Sign your contract George and behave yourself and then we just might make a player out of you.
