@owlstalk
Can someone explain to me what our tactics were in the first half? I couldn't make out the shape of the team, what the plan and tactics were supposed to be etc Anyone do better than me at looking at this one? dr. benway
Is Lees captain? It can't help when he has the stuffing knocked out of him, psychologically speaking, in the first two minutes. The Batman
Tactics went out the window. Nearly all the players went to pieces. Hooper was great again, the rest were between below average to absolutely useless. Bottled it.
WatfordOwl
We lined up with 11 players on the pitch, most of which went missing after the first whistle. Other than that I'm absolutely clueless as to how we were trying to combat them.
W H I T E Y
Your back four and Jones ahead of them were an absolute shambles throughout. Made Clarke look like Shearer. The other lot played the game of their lives in fairness. The scruffs will dine out on this for years, but cream rises, not muck.
Bob
Shocking tactics by an equally shocking manager. Perhaps Owlstalk will officially back the fans and want CC sacked.
clud17
Roll over and let a better motivated team take control of the game, embarrassing.
Lord Snooty
The answer is the tactics first half were predictable. As they so often are. That said so we're Uniteds. Anyone who has seen them for two minutes this season knew we had ro match them in midfield. Predictable tactics. Predictable performance. Outplayed by a unit made up of players that complement each other and a manager that has chosen a system which also gets the best out of them. Predictable. SheffWedsince86
Explain to me what our tactics have been first half this season and last. All I can see is don't commit too many players forward, keep it 0-0 at break then go for it for 15 mins second half. Score and then defend
striker
Carlos is a reactive manager, said in the build up that we get poor results v new teams/managers and again this is the case. Possibly part of the reason we dont play in the first half, set up to contain and have a look at the opposition before forming a game plan after HT. agentwalker
the main thing that killed us today is the same thing we're lacking... PACE
pazowl55
We tried to play our normal pass pass game but United were on us in a flash first to every ball. This is why I was hoping Hutchinson would have been fit as he and Jones could have just sat in front of that back 4 and calmed everything down. Our urgency to want to push up and play attacking football today has actually cost us. As defence didn't know whether to push up or stay back and all of them did it at different times. Carlos's normal boring away tactics actually would have been good first half as we would have had more of a solid base to defend from. Second half we gambled by taking off the only player shielding the back four in the hunt for goals and it back fired and we left gaps everywhere. Hutchinson and Loovens are not everyone's cup of tea. But we're exactly what we needed today in the atmosphere of a derby and up against a very well drilled unit in sheff utd.
bazinga
I'm guessing the tactic was to contain them and not concede, ok fair enough they were always likely to come straight at us.....problem was we persisted with this even when 2-0 down! Blame Harkes
Tactics don't exist when players can't complete a simple pass and a normally solid defence and keeper put in a shocking performance. I know it's always Carlos hunting season around these parts, but this one is on the players.
trevdi9
if tactics had included waking up and getting out of bed we may just have been at the races , but having a lie in like most weeks we were caught flat footed and on todays scenario on the pitch then promotion is a hell of a lot further away than we realize Edited September 24, 2017 by trevdi9
latemodelchild
Our tactics seemed to be try not to tackle a difficult do your best not to pass forward. We watched their players dance through over and over again. An absolute shitshow which I cannot bring myself to forgive. Hooper ran around a bit and tried. Everyone else watched him when they weren't watching the pigs attack.
legendaryswan
They were always going to push up and flood MF,yet we couldnt exploit any gaps, because we couldnt pick a pass or win the 2nd balls, they were first to everything. Worst ive seen us play, some players just froze out there, bloody embarassing today
