Steel city derby stats thread

Recommended Posts

Just a thread to share interesting statistics and the odd anecdote about footballs most important derby.

We play the other side of sheffield for the 141st time (competitively) on tuesday.

Both wednesday and united have each won 48 games with 44 draws.

Im wondering who the all time top scorer is and attendance records.

Honey bee may score.

In fact honey bee may score a hat trick.

P's.

Who's honey bee?

I was going to have a bet on the result but now feel I may get stung.

I can say with all honesty that a Nuhiu winner at the KOP end against the old enemy would be amongst the greatest possible outcomes possible in a match.

So long as it's not an own goal

The grunters won't like that stat.

TBF, the 141 games include a few wartime matches. Stick to league games and major cups and the S2 flaps are slightly ahead.

But while they have that, we have the warm glow and inner happiness that comes with not being incest loving tw@ts.

Are we playing em Tuesday n'all.?

Put it down to big match nerves on behalf of OP. Strange though, for someone who likes stats, can't get the day right. ?

Andrew Wilson scored 10 league goals against them I 'd doubt anyone scored more than that for us .....

Just looking up some stats on that wikipedia thing and came across this statement.

The new football club were quickly labelled the Pigs by their Wednesday counterparts, in reference to Pig Iron, an intermediate produce in the production of Steel, hinting that Wednesday were there first and therefore The Steel of the City and United, the secondary club, were the Pig Iron.

Sounds about reyt to me that.
