Bit of a real collectors item here for Sheffield Wednesday fans as we take a look at this rare SWFC training top by Bukta

This one is apparently a late 1970's training top but there's no actual info on the specific year so if anyone knows let us know.

Produced by Bukta at the time this training top features the Owls emblem on the left chest and the Bukta badge on the right.

Now the thing about this training top is that it was rumoured there was a red top produced by Bukta in the late 1970's/early 80's but we're not sure if this is the one that people talk about. This looks more pink in colour thought that could be down to the flash of the camera.

The Wednesday badge is embroidered nicely into the top and the Bukta badge is that kind of 3d flock instead

I'd say this was a more a pink training top though. If anyone has any photographs of the Sheffield Wednesday team wearing this then again post them below :)

Let us know what you think - do you like this one or not?

Think it's the same one that's been on and off Ebay for a while ...

Had it been an extra large I would have been the one putting photo up on owls talk

I`m not sure. I asked him where he got it from but he only said that he has a lot of connections about football memorabillia, and that he didn`t know much about it.

He just said that £60 was a bargain. But i guess thats what all sellers do.

His basement was full of old football stuff.

You can check the products he`s selling on his page. He got around 750 different products mostly from english football.

i'm quite enjoying it, are you?

Yes mate Ive ordered a few items for the young Un he's taller than me but like a rake so I'm going to try some of his on before I commit the quality is really good the club should have asked them to supply this season's kit

It would have been a marketing coup

But hey I'm an engineer what would I know ? lol

Yes I did like the Hereford kit you posted it reminded me of the Germany kit

Gerd (Der Bomber) Muller wore in 70 world cup ..

Our club has really missed out on an opportunity here with the retro thing

I think the majority of owls fans want the old kits back to wear

It's a bit like vinyl records the traditionalists all stick with what they like ..

And there are thousands of traditionalists at S6 ...

Where are you based Pach?

That can't have been an actual training top could it?

At first I thought maybe it would have gone with the silver and purple kit but that was an Umbro kit, right?

Yes that's correct ..

Best way of finding out is asking an ex player from that era ?

I may be able to help here so watch this space ....

There is also the theory that these tops never actually made production and we're samples to try as possible away kit tops (bloody brave colours for a team to play in in that era )

Having said that Wednesdays team were big strong lads around that time and could more than hold their own I would imagine ...

Will let the forum know my findings as and when ...
