Official January Transfer Rumours Thread..

Recommended Posts

It’s difficult to make sense of anything at the moment. Potentially, our ability to keep chucking money at it is coming to an end, yet we pursue AVB?

If we are going to have to make do with what we have, wouldn’t the new manager profile need to be geared more towards a motivational sort, who can get the best out of what we’ve got, rather than a Champions League “spendalot” sort?

And why has our new CEO been appointed off the back of “being impressed by Mr Chansiri’s ambitious plans for the club” if the money is drying up?

Or if the plan is to wheel and deal in the window to change things around, why are we taking our time to find a new manager, unless the manager is unlikely to have involvement with recruitments anyway, in which case, raises a whole new set of questions about the recruitment model and finding a manager happy with not being involved with transfers?

I’m struggling to understand any of it at the moment.

If it's true Adam Clayton may be available, we really should be looking to send Butterfield back and trying to sign him. He's exactly what we need in midfield.

I know Butterfield has been garbage, but even I fail to see how the bass player from U2 is going to be an improvement in midfield.

either way once the new manager is on-board, the January window should be interesting either way at least!

Wolves have completed the signing of 20-year-old Valencia forward Rafa Mir.

The club announced the transfer tonight, with the youngster signing a four-and-a-half year deal in a transfer understood to be worth around £1.5 million.

Wolves' first signing of the January transfer window will wear the number nine shirt for the rest of the season.

The 6ft 2in Spaniard said he was looking forward to reuniting with Nuno Espirito Santo, who he has previously worked with at Valencia.

we could have got 5x of these for price of Jordan Rhodes = disaster

Need a manager first but once we get one, hopefully there will still be some time left to bring in what we lack: mostly pace and power? We failed in the summer and ever since Wembley to bring in what we needed. We've needed for a fair while to upgrade our full backs/wing backs; bring in a powerful commanding centre back, a midfield beast or a tidy midfield general, a winger with pace and end product, and something different upfront. We're unlikely to get all those but could do with addressing some of those issues, getting Winnall back and getting some of the injured players back too? Hopefully we will use the remainder of the season to build for next season and finally bring in what we need in the summer?

After the other night, a defensive midfielder and a left back ought to be high on the list.

A right winger or forward with end product as well.

Assuming FF comes back firing the left hand side of midfield and forward is taken care with him and Reach.

Was just reading about this, apparently signed for Wolves over Real Madrid. Sounds an exciting prospect. Would love a few of them in our team rather than some of the older wasters.

I think this is the important part of our next recruitment drive... players 25 and under. We have signed too many players that on paper should be good players but they have done the miles and seem to pick up injuries. Either unlucky or coincidence. Saying that everyone's bloomin injured.

Love all this he signed for small club over giant one. If he was any good and worth Real Madrids time the only way he would be signing for wolves would be on loan after Madrid snap him up first.

So where does FFP come into it then? We were told previously that we were sailing close to the wind? Like I said, more questions than answers. Unless our new CEO has some interesting ideas to get around it, and ironically becomes our saviour?
