Official January Transfer Rumours Thread..

Recommended Posts

Once Chansiri finally gets rid of Carlos, he should bring in Dean Smith but will probably bring in another foreign coach. After that we need to upgrade our full backs, bring in a centre back and a pacy winger, plus I'd try and bring in Ryan Woods and Erhun Oztumer. And if possible offload a few players too. Unlikely to get all that done but first and foremost a new manager is needed to get more out of our current squad. If that happens before the transfer window reopens, that would give a new manager two transfer windows to assess and bring in what we need.

Birmingham City and Leeds United are weighing up January moves for Jack Colback, with Newcastle United ready to offload the midfielder in January.

Blues and Leeds scouts were watching the 28-year-old as he played 90 minutes for Newcastle's second string.

Colback has fallen down the pecking order at St James' Park and hasn't played a single competitive match for the Magpies this season.

Heard from my Newcastle correspondent a few weeks ago it was Leeds or Middlesbrough.

Steven Caulker leaves QPR by mutual consent. Apparently he had a clause in his contract that said if he played a certain amount of games he would be free to leave.

Weird. Anyhow I think he’d be a great signing for us given it would just be his wages we would need to spend on (FFP and all that).

Isn't that the guy with some alcohol /gambling problem or summat, could be a handful. Got enough probs as it is.

No. He has had some mental health problems but it’s not reported that he has left the club because of them.

They aren’t saying it’s personal reasons, just a clause apparently

Wolverhampton Wanderers have made a proposal to sign Benfica midfielder Joao Carvalho in January, according to reports in Portugal.

Carvalho is a player that Wolves have been constantly linked with over the past six weeks or so, a further attacking option that Nuno Espirito Santo is perhaps currently searching for to help his side carry out their promotion push.

The 20-year-old, who is a Portugal U21 international, made his first appearance for the Benfica first-team earlier this month when he faced Basel in the Champions League - a match that the Swiss side ran out 2-0 winners.

Carvalho spent the second half of last season on loan at Vitoria de Setubal - and scored in a 1-1 draw with Porto.

Birmingham City will attempt to bring Cameron Jerome back to St Andrew's in January, according to reports.

The striker, who left Blues in 2011, is available for a cut-price £1.5million fee when the transfer window opens as Norwich City look to trim their wage bill.

Championship sides Derby County, Cardiff City and Sunderland also want to sign the 31-year-old according to the Sun.
