David was an experienced player coming of the back of a few hugely successful seasons and making his international debut who was subject of a British record bid from the biggest club in the country and he would have been playing for the first team. George is a young lad who has next to no first team experience who is coming off fantastic achievements for club and country at youth level who is subject of bids where he will swap one youth set up for another the truth is this has nothing to do with hirst sr not going to man u and regretting it it's about the young lads future which may be better served signing here and going out on loan rather than getting lost in a premier league teams academy at the end of the day his name may be a hindrance but is also a huge plus at Wednesday it wouldn't be elsewhere Well. Simply speculating that if David is influential here (none of us know whether he is) then he is likely to draw from his own experience. It's not just one youth set up for another. Most people able to sell their skills in the labour market will at the very least look at the highest paying employer. If big premier league clubs are involved that isn't us

Bluesteel
The club have seemingly set out a fair plan u23 last season, loan this season, likely first team next season should he do well on loan. That is a clear pathway. This can't be about opportunities as any other club would only do the same.

roundhayowl
I hope he goes - if he is going to be that good then he needs to hit the big time NOW. He isn't going to do that here due to the abundance of strikers we already have.
billyblack
Justboffer him a decent contract and get him out on loan. How hard can it be really

Instead we decided to sign Winnall and Rhodes in January, who ironically can't get in the side anyway. He now has Fletcher, Hooper, Forestieri, Rhodes, Winnall, Joao and Nuhiu all ahead of him in the pecking order. He's never going to get a chance here so he may as well go to a club who will develop him better and show him the respect he deserves. Just another piece of the shambolic jigsaw which is taking place at our club currently. So its a shambolic jigsaw to buy players better than the ones we have. This site is becoming a joke. I think the club are due to its bizzaar transfer policy. Prolific scorers who cant do it at Wednesday. Something drastically wrong with the whole set up. We could offer similar by loaning him out for the season to a team who has to play him. He wont be going anywhere celubrious with guaranteed first team football yet
McRightSide
Why would we want to offer him 20k a week?
OwlofOliveGrove
He'll go out on loan. Simple as that. That's the best thing for him at this stage as well. We won't sell him unless we're offered silly money.

We might as well offer the hottest prospect for twenty years, £20k when we've got 3 or 4 players on over £30 sat on the bench every match. At least we might get a decent return out of George

You have no idea, and nor in fairness do I, about any specifics. On the general point however if a big club really wanted him then of course we couldn't replicate their terms. Again we don't know that that is on the cards but it may be.
