George Hirst Off!!

Do you blame him? Scored goals for fun last season should be knocking for a place on the bench.

Instead we decided to sign Winnall and Rhodes in January, who ironically can't get in the side anyway.

He now has Fletcher, Hooper, Forestieri, Rhodes, Winnall, Joao and Nuhiu all ahead of him in the pecking order. He's never going to get a chance here so he may as well go to a club who will develop him better and show him the respect he deserves.

Just another piece of the shambolic jigsaw which is taking place at our club currently.

I don't think he should be anywhere near the bench until he has proven he can do it at some level of professional football. Until then I'd stick with the ones who definitely have proven themselves at our level. If he doesn't want to (sign a contract and...) go out on loan then what can we do. His choice and both parties take their chances.

There's a surprise Sally talking garbage. You should have been with me last seasons LC at Cambridge, George still has a little way to go.

That was a year ago now?

He's kicked on quite a bit since then. Any other club in the league, except a few who also have spent big, Hirst would be pushing for a place on the bench.

I'm not saying he's the finish article but he is probably the best prospect we've produced attacking wise in way over a decade. Him, his Dad and his agent have probably seen our ridiculous signings of Rhodes and Winnalll and realised that he's never going to get a shot here.

He'll be looking at other players from the local area like Calvert Lewin and Mason Holgate leave their clubs early in their development, joined a Premier League club and now reaping the rewards.

Can't help but think we have managed his development all wrong.

So move on several months from Cambridge to the youth cup v Chelsea. He was by far and away our best player but the Chelsea lads had him in their pockets really.

So now he is ready to go out on loan but it seems Dad knows best. David was always an adherent of 'produce the goods and the money will follow'. Perhaps he has changed his mind.
