I don't claim to know anything about him, but what we've seen recently is that the best transfer value is to be found in Europe. Top level Championship players like Chris Schindler at Huddersfield, Jota at Brentford or Jonathan Kodjia at Villa all cost around the £2 million mark or less when brought in from Europe. Players of a similar standard already playing in the Championship (e.g. Kodjia himself when he went from Bristol to Villa, or Assombalonga from Forest to Boro) are now costing well over £10 million.
