The 23-year-old was left out of Heerenveen’s 2-1 win at ADO Den Haag on Saturday with Jurgen Streppel confirming that a transfer was in the works. According to De Telegraaf, Van Aken is set to join Sheffield Wednesday, who are expected to quickly reach a deal with Heerenveen. The defender will then sign a multi-year contract in England early next week.
