Two days later Nixon all over it with a £12m bid, he knew nothing and still does. Anyway, roll on January when it can all start again, just choose your reporters wiser next time. Also I think the signing of Abdi excited fans because we all thought we'd change into a 3-5-2, like Watford and like what Carlos harped about in his book. But that wasn't the case. Looking back neither addressed the midfield issue we had. And unless Butterfield steps up to the plate, that weakeness still hasn't been addressed. We needed a big strong physical all round midfield player- yes they cost money but we've had the money to find one, money wasted on Rhodes, a Winnall, Jones and Abdi could have funded it.
