So after 58 pages it appears no one was willing to pay the £3-4m for FF after all and Nixon's story about a £12m bid was obviously made up.

You'll all point to the £12m/£15m/£18m bids from Fulham, but they were just forum whispers, never confirmed or denied by either club or respected media outlet and all stemmed from the original Nixon rumour in the Sun and Twitter, five days ago.

So ask yourself this, if Fulham FC had enough dosh to bid £12m + matching/increasing his wages last Sunday, then add that to the £7m income from Aluko, why did they only sign a free transfer and a loan player yesterday and lose out to Birmingham on Jota?

Click bait reporters like Nixon visits fans forums like this for their gossip every day . Coincidentally, there was a thread started on here last Friday about FF now being bookies favourite to join Fulham (based on nothing other than probably some one punting a £10). Two days later Nixon all over it with a £12m bid, he knew nothing and still does.

Anyway, roll on January when it can all start again, just choose your reporters wiser next time.

Why are you bothered ?

Do you go round all forums sticking your two peneth in or is it just this one ?

I am annoyed Birmingham signed Jota.

He is class and we have signed Adbi, Rhodes, Jones etc for vast amounts.

Feel like Jota would have been ideal.

You don't get everything you want.

For instance: nobody wants you to post on here but you do.

Both Abdi and Jones were cheaper than Jota (most likely around the same price as Jota if you combined the two fees)... so if Abdi and Jones were "vast" amounts, Jota must have been "infinite" amounts

Well it is awful business if you blow your budget on players you don't really need

I think we needed reinforcement in midfield last summer.

Abdi, on paper, was one of the signings of the summer.

Rhodes seemed like an indulgence.

Once again though that's with the joys of hindsight.

We didn't need Jones?

Two fit CMs, and in his last 9 starts we have won five and drawn four.

How did we not need him?

Jones and Abdi who have 5 promotions between them and the most prolific goalscorers at this level in the past 5 years.

Awful business that. What were we thinking?!? :duntmatter:

At the time don't think anyone was complaining. We just loved the fact we were spending money. Also I think the signing of Abdi excited fans because we all thought we'd change into a 3-5-2, like Watford and like what Carlos harped about in his book. But that wasn't the case.

Looking back neither addressed the midfield issue we had. And unless Butterfield steps up to the plate, that weakeness still hasn't been addressed. We needed a big strong physical all round midfield player- yes they cost money but we've had the money to find one, money wasted on Rhodes, a Winnall, Jones and Abdi could have funded it.
