WhiteOwl91 Posted August 22, 2017 Share Posted August 22, 2017 Positives Abdi got 90 minutes, albeit actually played poorly. Matias big reason game changed. Direct, committed players, pacey. Big plus Rhodes with two goals as a result of the above. Great for his confidence Negatives Wallace, Winnall and FF (and others) were awful. But they went off and the game changed Clearly a problem with FF, didn't play or act like a team with him on the pitch at all. Winnall lost the ball SO many times due to a terrible first touch. Really really bad night for him and missed two good chances The Carlos/steward debacle. Matias, had a good go. Should have scored but he wanted to run at them and try and beat a man. Makes a change. Thought Bannan looked busy. As for the negatives Wildsmith had a shocker of a night which started early on in the first half with 2 missed place passes in quick succession Lees, distribution was awful. Ok he was one of the few trying to put a ball into the strikers but his passing is just shocking. Winnall, his first touch tonight was absolutey abysmal. Second touch was a tackle. Very average. re the crosses for rhodes sounds like Matias put a good one in for the goal , thing is we rarely take full backs on and whip a ball in, crosses seem to come from extremely deep which are then too far from goal to score from or not on the money . It's them awful lofted type of balls with little or not pace on them. We are relying on the full backs too often, we need to play wingers as wingers; get them stuck out wide and trying to beat a man and whipping a cross in. The opposition can literally stand in a line and watch the ball be played in front of them, no one wanting to break through the line. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Pudil 8 - won some important headers and played well despite being targeted by Bolton. Lees 7 - poor distribution but some great defending when they broke. Palmer 3 - does little. Sloppy passing and bad going forward. FF 5 - a few good moved in the centre forward role but not much success. Lost the ball too much. Bannan 7 - good long and short passes. Everything goes through him. Ran at them a bit. Abdi 2 - did nothing of note. Terrible. Gave all away at the end so many times. Wallace 4 - they knew he cuts in and defended that. He couldn't adjust. Winnall 5 - poor touches but put himself about. Rhodes 8 - two good goals when given service. Subs: Nuhiu 7 - always makes a difference. Did well. Matias 8 - very direct and plays with intent.
