Carlos defends leaving Boyd out

If Wallace fits into a diamond, so does Boyd. Simple

Think they are interchangeable in 4-4-2 or diamond.

Carlos just preferered Wallace after Preston.

Maybe making the point you don't just come to a new club and stroll into the starting 11 regardless of performance levels.

Carlos DEFENDING is only Star's interpretation of his answer to a question.

Think its ironic how so many criticise Carlos for his inflexible tactics, only to round on him when he makes changes in formation.

Too much chopping and changing, Need settled team, Doesn't know his best team,  etc etc.

League season is 3 games old, judge him after 10 and after the transfer window closes.

Maybe that's because someone asked him about it so his answer is then a defence...

No, the headline is out of context

The question was raised and answered by way of an explanation

That Carlos should then need to 'defend' an unpopular decision is purely down to Howson's (or his editor's) negative spin

Carlos started almost exactly the same team for the Huddersfield home semi as he did a year earlier at Wembley. I can't wait until we sneak into the play-offs next May and play the same team in the play-offs for three seasons running, despite spending tens of millions on fees and wages in the meantime.

The man does not know how to integrate new signings into his team. Yet another reason why we're doomed to never get promotion under his stewardship.

its all a bit depressing isn't it

And f***in laughable.......................he wants us to believe that a professional footballer on 20 or 30 bags of sand a WEEK cant make subtle adjustments to his game to adapt to a SLIGHTLY different sytem......................absolute cobblers!

How doesn't Boyd fit into a diamond system though if Wallace does? If Wallace was playing one of the 'wide' positions of the diamond then surely a more energetic, mobile player in Boyd can play it just as effectively?

Said the same in the boyd thread,

If anything the diamond puts more onus on energy as more area is covered.

At least give him a chance there before writting him off.

Writting ff off behind front 2 when abdi can barely train makes no sense either, finding cc's logic increasingly strange.

Might be best if he shuts up, stops overthinking things or creating barriers, keep it simple, play the best players and apply common sense

Any Wednesday fan (except you it would seem) would have jumped at the chance of signing those 3.

No pal, you are under estimating the Wednesday fans. Most are not as daft as you.

The ones that actually have a clue about football knew these were not what we needed at the time.

I'm not saying they wouldn't be good for someone but just didn't fit our requirements

That's really odd then (pal) because Scram who's probably forgotten more than you will ever know about the game rates Abdi (on his time at Watford) as a top player.

It would appear reading this site that most Wednesdayites will judge a player on their last appearance.

Hunt is sh ite

Palmer is sh ite

Loovens is sh ite

Pudil is sh ite

Reach is sh ite

Wallace is sh ite

Jones is sh ite

Bannan is sh ite

Rhodes is sh ite

Boyd is sh ite

Hooper is sh ite

etc etc etc

Defends himself. ...

Gordon Bennett!

He's the manager, he picks the team. There is no story.

We might debate selection on here. I might discuss it on the phone to my friends or in the club. That's always happened.

But this microscopic detailing.

There will be people now, hacks included, poring over his every word in that interview now looking to make another angle, another story.

Pah!
