There was a spell from 39 mins to 50 mins (5 mins stoppage time) where we managed to get out of our own half once - a corner that was over-hit and went out for a throw-in. Aye, pinned in our own half for almost the full 11 minutes against a pretty mediocre Sunderland side. That was pretty much the story of the first half. It was dross.

Second half was excellent, but you can't afford to only play for 45 minutes.

If that's the level of performance you are happy with and also expect us to be challenging for promotion, then your footballing knowledge is pretty limited.

That first paragraph is completely wrong.

41: Corner swfc

42: Wallace freekick over

45: Corner Swfc

45 (1): Abdi shot wide

45 (2):: Jones shot wide

46: Owls offside attacking areas

49: swfc attacking free kick

50: Swfc corner

52: Fletcher header over

Dont back up your opinion with incorrect facts.

Ok 3 shots and 2 corners, hardly out of our half once is it???

Was not the story of the half. Possession was 65-35 in our favour at half time. Ended up being similar the second half, although we were much more of a threat, Sunderland less so.

Im all for having an opinion but not with incorrect facts.

2) Carlos places no importance on the areas of the team that require improvement, and for the last two seasons we've started the season with no cover in defence. It cost us last season (Pudil and Semedo playing against Burton away) and we're very lucky it hasn't cost us this season. Before you say he has no say over transfers, that's nonsense and an excuse to deflect the blame away from him. Carlos told the Sheffield Star in July 2017 that he pulls together a list of players with his analysts, they research the players, and they present the Chairman with their preferred targets for him to go and buy.

Well you've answered yourself there.

By making a list of targets and presenting it to the Chairman he is actively placing importance on areas that require improvment.

He's been saying for 18 months that they have been trying to get in two centre backs.  If the money men haven't been able to get those deals over the line for whatever reason, that can't be levelled at his door.

I'll try and dig out the interview from last season where the lack of centre half cover had been mentioned when it came out that Loovens had been playing with injections and CC/DC said that clubs were asking well over the odds for the players because they knew Wednesday had some money. In some cases double what they considered reasonable.

At the forum last Friday they gave us examples of why deals didn't go through. When clubs are aware you are desperate for a player in a certain position prices become inflated, especially when they know you have money.

Exactly. It's standard.

Just like when when a club sells a player for big money, when they go to buy a replacement the selling club further down the chain jacks their prices up.

When a wealthy foreign owner comes in selling clubs start rubbing their hands. As do agents of 'freebies'.

Hence the reason we've ended up getting a player from a cheaper market.

.... and who , if not an instant success, will become a stick to beat the manager with for not prioritising a top class signing.

And round and round we go. ..

Big question is , who is buying the players?

Cos that's main problem.

Its clear which players Carlos dosnt want............. they are always on the bench or in the stand lol

Get over it. You win some you lose some. No point dwelling on one or two games. It's a new season

I don't think the anger is based on us losing, it's based on how we lost!

Just like against Hull and a fair few games games season we were spineless on both occasions.

Not true. Some fans actually need counseling because they couldn't handle the defeat to Huddersfield.

New territory for them , they don't know how to handle it.

Op is one of them.

You're only a laughing stock when you've gone 93 years without a major trophy as you well know

Haha, this is true!!!  But the OP does have a point, if you can't find a CB in 18 months, pay 5m for a winger and put him at left back, play 50 games straight in the same way and stifle the whole teams creativity, then start the season with games that should have yielded 6-7 points but we have 2, then I think Mr Chansiri has to see the light before this season is a write off.

Last night was better but only after going behind again and changing from ultra defensive to playing 4 up front.

Just my 2p but I am done with Carlos and his excuses, any one with any football background would have got a better return in the last 3 games than him.

To be honest I won't blame the manager for us going behind for being ultra defensive last night.

If you knock off the stoppage that Hunt was down for. (3 minutes) There had only been 55 seconds of actual game time played.

The players fell asleep whilst briefly down to ten men.

That cannot be levelled at the managers door.

Did you watch the rest of the half?? and QPR and Preston and Rangers and Huddersfield, etc. the man will not change his approach.

We come out slow, sit back, get punished (granted last night was really quick), come out in second half try to rally throw all forwards on and hope.  Can work sometimes but would be nice to come out quick and get games under control at least once. in a while
