But it's still a problem.

He needs to play on the left.

Why isn't he?

Because Carlos is either blind, stupid, or being told to play him striker.

No clear-thinking intelligent manager in control of selection would see him as a striker.

Unfortunately,  situation now stands that both FF and CC believe he is best suited to playing centrally.

Which leaves the chances of our other strikers getting a partnership together very slim.

He's pandered to him. No other way of saying it really. And dropped in the classic 'Messi and Ronaldo' excuse to boot.

I'm staggered.

If anyone thinks this is put to bed they're nuts. FF has had his wish granted to play up front even though his best position is wide left. Seriously, what do you think players like Hooper, Fletcher and Winnall think of this decision??

DC needs to step in. It's his money that's on the line here after all.

A bloody primadonna who should do as he's instructed and a pathetic manager pandering to a spoilt brat so he doesn't have another paddy. His best performances and most goals come from the left. By all means allow him not to track back as I want him fit and able to create but don't play him upfront, we have much better if the service is right. I'm so p1ssed off at cc and ff's attitude I'd happily see ff gone for £10m and a new manager in before the weekend. If cc is here a the end of the transfer window I can see nothing but championship football next season.

Carlos suggested that FF would play left against the weaker teams where there was less need to be defensively solid. Let's see if he follows that through on Saturday.

I agree though that he should be there every game, without him in that role we can't create. It doesn't matter how solid we are if we can't score.

The last quote from the interview is still telling:

"It is now time he repays that faith on the field."

Indeed, but that's no really the problem - it's not like FF isn't performing, he's playing well individually. It's just not working for the team, or being helpful to the other players such as Rhodes.

It probably gives more clarity as to where Reach is going to play, though.

They can't be happy having to compete with JR for the other spot.

As someone else pointed out in the other thread, Hooper said recently that he'd have more chance of playing if he offered to play on the wing. That has to be a dig at FF's move up top.

“When you ask players to work like that for the team, they lose energy to be the players that they usually are."

“It’s why you never see players like [Lionel] Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo play on the sides.”

Congratulations Carlos. You have just summed up everything that is wrong with your style of football. A team full of talented players all been asked to sit in their own defensive half. You are murdering them mate.

Really not sure that's true. He still suggested FF would play wide against the weaker teams. Let's see if that's true when we play QPR.

You'd have to be an extreme supporter of Carlos to see this any other way than he's pandered to FF and to the detriment of not only the way we play but also team morale. The bloke has seriously lost the plot. DC needs to step in sharpish...

Yep, you can read the quote in many ways.   It could mean that CC doesn't thinks he's performed there, isn't working well with other strikers or that if he doesn't prove successful, he'll move him back to left wing.  Who knows.

If he does, do you think possibly QPR might decide to go heavy down the right side?

The argument/resolution doesn't even make sense - it means that against the better teams we play FF up front, where he's not as effective for the team.and we get worse results?

Why would we set up in a less effective way against the better teams??

It's because he's been pandered to - in public.

Weaker teams such as ooh let's see Preston North End ? Carlos is out of his depth, he's in a situation that he has never found himself in before in his management career as he only usually lasts a season tops and he's lost the plot .
