EveryWednesday Posted July 27, 2017 Share Posted July 27, 2017 Just watching Everton in Europa League and got me wondering about Wednesday's European adventures. Trouble is I'm 28. This means I was 6 years old when we were in Uefa Cup last. So I have a few questions for you older ladies and gents What round did we get to in the Uefa Cup and I vaguely remember playing B. monchengladbach as my cousin went, did they knock us out? Who else did we play? Did we contest the Intertoto Cup? Did we play some games away from Hillsborough in Intertoto? And whatever happened to said contest? RUMBELOWS91 Posted July 27, 2017 Share Posted July 27, 2017 Most of us had to scramble round and find a mate who's parents were early adopters of Sky TV to watch the away leg in Kaiserslautern- even then it was only televised on the free to air German channel ZDF- previously only of use for showing boobs pre UK watershed. i believe we may have been the last English team left in Europe that year, courtesy of the fact we were knocked out on the Wednesday night rather than Tuesday.
