You turn the positivity dial of course, it's currently on 5, CC's turning it up to 6 as we speak.

Things are simpler in the where did it all go wrong thread....

Problem=20% more positivity needed.

Solution=......................

Star running a poll today.

Over a thousand votes so far.

10% of us think he will score 10 or less.

22% 11-15 (if Carlos rotates as much as other seasons that's a fair return)

34% 16-20

26% 21-25 (where my vote sits)

and there's even 7% of us saying 26+ (I will have whatever you are drinking)

When you read the pessimism many fans have on here about Jordan, it clearly isn't felt by the majority outside this forum.

I suspect a few of the "10 or less" voters may be from across the city.

Think the point is that Winnall could probably score same and we'd have been able to sign some other players rather than playing Effing Pudil at CH.

Pish poor panic buy leads to Pish poor defence budget as Begbie said in Trainspotting

This!!!

He's got it in him to get 20 at this level but the big question is how much game time he'll get.

We have some top class strikers but Rhodes should be top of the pile with his record, if he doesn't get enough time it would be a crazy situation - he could make the difference.

Easy. You tell your players to have more positive intent. You ask them to look for forward passes rather than keep possession. You mix long throws with short backwards throws. You mix up your 50 yards free-kicks with crosses into the area rather than just short taps back to the nearest player. You play two wide men rather than one, so the defenders have more options to move the ball forward.

Personel matters too. You put Reach or Bannan or Abdi wide and the ball will be received and passed back to the LB. You put FF left and on receipt he will invariably attack.

The 20% increase of positive intent is easy. It's not swapping from Karanka to Keegan. It's only a subtle change we need.

You make it sound so easy

Unless we change the way we play, Rhodes won't get much more than 10 goals, because he won't play all that often.

The way in which we played last season, suits a combination of Fletcher/Hooper.

However, if we look to get to the byline and get balls into the box, like a couple of goals have been in pre-season so far, then Rhodes could end up been prolific.

Rhodes isn't the variable. It's how we play. Play to his strengths, he'll get goals. Don't, and he won't. Simple as that.

It's an interesting thought, but you should be thinking long term - if this happened we'll have nowhere to post...

... because I'm quite certain the Owlstalk servers would be crushed under the deluge of posts skewering Carlos for our carelessness with the ball and how we consistently relinquish possession with these long balls into the box, and about how we desperately need to scour the transfer market for players that will hold and maintain possession at all costs.  Even if we were winning, the posts would come about how people did not have high hopes, and that the style of play is 'not good enough for the PL'.

Dangerous thinking, I say....

3 goals in 17 games (13 starts) so far. Doesn't really fill me with much confidence that he can get 20+. Apart from the odd game where he’s flourished, he’s not been convincing since he’s arrived. His contribution/performances have been poor to say the least.

Carlos needs to get the best out of him and find a way of playing to his strengths. Honestly, I'm not sure he can utilise that.

Didn't want to start a new thread with this question because then the question wouldn't be needed.........

Why is there no matchday thread for the Donny Rovers game that kicks off in 3 hours? Are we all waiting for somebody else to do it?
