Do they still make Mansfield bitter? Used to be a nice pint when I lived up North

Mansfield Brewery was taken over by Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries in 1999 and is now part of Marstons. Unfortunately the beer taste altered when they moved production to the West Midlands and it's not as good as it used to be. It was a lovely pint in the days of being brewed locally.

Absolutely correct. I used to live nearby in Ravenshead back then. Plenty of local pubs served a tasty pint of Mansfield in those days.

It was shocking.  Tasted like someone had put a pound of sugar in it.

Used to work in a Mansfield. Odd place. Poor mans Chesterfield. Mike Ashley has got a house there. In fact he owns the cul de sac.

Re holidaying in Barnsley, not sure it's for me.

Not sure those comments would go down too well in mansfield.

As for Ashley house and cul de sac in mansfield. It's called shirebrook.
