If it's any consolation, Poric, Anna is in FAR better shape than me and watches what she eats and all sorts, and I can outrun her all day long.

Keep eating the cakes and find a running partner you're quicker than is my advice.

Running partner? No chance, what if they don't want to run to Tesco Extra for a Snickers ice cream?

I say 'all day long', I mean 'about two minutes before I get bored, run far too fast and collapse in a heap after ten minutes'.

Just got to carb load before you go.

Who wants crisps mid run? And by checkpoint to don't mean halfway in a 10k do you?

Three races, 30, 50 and 100 mile distances.

30 mile runners didn't really tuck in beyond the grapes, watermelon and drinks.

Most people crave salty food further into those distances, and find they can't stomach sweet food.

That is such a long distance runner's idea of gluttony...

Grapes ffs...

90% of that table is fruit and air.

Also you could have rearranged the crisps and grapes to make the display symmetrical

Pizza, bacon butties, rice pudding and sausages were also available.

Went through the grapes quicker than anything else.

Air is useful to a runner.

I won't pander to your OCD tendancies.

Good luck to him records are there to be broken.

It never ceases to amaze me what these ultra athletes are capable of.

He overtook me on Cam High Road, when I was doing the Spine Challenger and he was doing the full race this year.

He slowed down and chatted for a few seconds, then just went away from me.

Didn't look like it was any effort and made it look so easy.

Just gone through Gargrave, slightly ahead of schedule.(10 mins)

I think it's a struggle to make up time in this heat but you might well (hoping) see him go further ahead overnight as it cools.

People out on the PW today with water and support for him, all reporting he's moving well.
