Birley - it was promise to do all he could. A goal that he hoped we could achieve.

He's spent circa 30 million and transformed us into promotion contenders so we ain't exactly far off are we.

He couldn't guarantee promotion and the vast, vast majority of our fans would have understood that.

Thats what i meant to post

I mean tbf...we're a Diame wonder goal and a few better penalties away from possibly getting in the Prem.

Football is the finest of margins and you do need a bit of luck too.

He wants it now ???

Think he's probably been waiting 17 ...kin years!

Perhaps he's a winner and doesn't like losing every year

Perhaps looking at graphs and stats on how we have improved isn't his bag

Perhaps he had expectations after seeing the money paid in transfers and more importantly wages

Perhaps he stupidly thought we may have had more than a couple of shots on target in two of the most important games you could have

We lost on penalties to a more organised and fitter team. It's gone. Moan all you like but it's done. So you can continue the sob story or accept that we need to move forward positively and try again next season with whom whoever DC decides will give us the best chance to do so.

That's what I'm saying. Was very daft of him to promise promotion but he was new to the sport back then, he'll have learnt now.

Like I said earlier there is no blame on the chairmans part.

Too much emphasis placed on this so called 2 year promise. When that statement first came out , I construed it with a double meaning. The "year " word should have been season , as in "I would like that season to coincide with a return to the premier league"

Dejphon never promised a return , simply promised to do all he could to achieve that , and to me that promise is still achievable in the next " our 150th anniversary season "

Realistically though , when Dejphon first took over at the club , I envisaged at least a 7 year program of development to take us where we all want us to be ( not just the Prem ). These play offs have been an added bonus , patience is the key.

I actually agreed with some of your points but none of our moaning will give us a second crack at Huddersfield to go onto Wembley. Did Carlos make some utterly bizarre team selections and substitutions? Absolutely. If he stays he needs to recruit far better and play a better style of football. If he goes I pray that DC can bring someone in who can get an auto spot in the first season. It'll be a tall order

He has PROMISED. So he's either not tried his best and therefore broke his promise, or he has and it's still not good enough anyway. Not sure why he promised it, has come round to bite him in the arse

You need a bigger spade pal

To say 'if it doesn't hurt, you don't care' is a stupid statement.

Im sat here next to my son in hospital, there are far more important things in life than losing to Hudds.

They were better than us over both games. They were better/higher than us nearly all season.

Nothing we can do about it apart from grow stronger & move forward.

Thats life

Hope your son is ok matey  i nearly lost my mrs last week so agree with everything you say ,

Sorry to hear that @trevdi9

hes a battler, and had a better day today. But it is family / friends in sad situations that make us see that Owls losing isn't the end of the world, they gave us the best season for nearly 2 decades & ppl have no perspective.

Big love to you & your missus. Hope things are ok mate.
