The Wolves International chequebook is not only being waved at Portugal, it is also being waggled in the direction of Germany according to German media giant Bild.

Bild say that Wolves are not only after Dynamo Dresden left-back Philip Heise, but have “reportedly” entered a bit of “around €3.4 million” for the 26-year-old. Dusseldorf-born left back.

Heise started his football career as a junior with youth side FC Büderich, before moving into the Bayern Leverkusen youth set-up.

We should be looking at German players, good technically and seem to adapt seamlessly to playing in the UK. There must be some decent bargains compared to UK players.

Have Wednesday ever had a German player on the books?

Indeed. Thirty odd year old Germans who can't run reyt quick should be ten a penny, There's even got to be some with Scottish ancestry kicking about if we look hard enough.

Dog botherers transfer window has been excellent - looking like they have or going to sign Ince, Danny Williams, Kasey Palmer and Scott Malone.

Outstanding window so far. Exactly what we should do should we ever go up

I'd like Ince in our team but not sure I'd fancy him to keep a team in The Premier League.

They're obviously going down this year, and when they do they'll be prepared for the Champ to come right back up. I'm envious....

Veteran defender Chris Samba has joined up with the Aston Villa squad for pre-season training, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The experienced centre-back is currently without a club following his release from Panathinaikos this summer, and is maintaining his fitness with Steve Bruce’s men.

Samba has a vast pedigree in the game, having played for several clubs during his career so far, so his experience in the camp could come in handy.

The former Congo international flew out with the squad to Portugal to take part in the club’s training camp for the opening stage of pre-season, and he’ll be hoping to make an impact during his stint with Villa.
