Leeds ‘ready to meet £6.4m asking price for Alvaro Negredo’

Valencia striker Alvaro Negredo has been identified as a summer transfer target by Leeds United.

The 31-year-old Spanish marksman spent the duration of last season on loan at Middlesbrough with his future at the Mestalla uncertain.

Leeds boss Thomas Christiansen, who spent time at both Real Madrid and Barcelona as a youth player, is determined to make the Madrid-born footballer his 10th summer acquisition but faces stiff competition from Swansea City, the Mirror reports.

Think Swansea see him as a replacement for Llorente, who could be off to Chelsea

Be a major coup though, if Leeds did get him The fact that clubs like them and Wolves are even thinking they can tempt players like that, shows how much this divisions moved on

You'd moan if we were in for him though.

More than likely yes, but we don't really set our sights that high do we

No...I mean we only signed the most prolific striker at this level for the last 5 years.

You moaned about him, didn't you?

Bristol City FC Transfer News

Exclusive: Aden Flint to leave Bristol City in the next few days for new club

Deal to be completed by the middle of next week, reveals source close to the player.

Bristol City made it a perfect seven wins in pre-season (Torquay game and younger line-up aside) by beating FC Twente on Friday night. But talismanic defender Aden Flint was only named on the bench.

The Bristol Post understands that the towering centre-back is set to switch clubs in the next few days.

A source close to both the player and the club has confirmed that negotiations are well under way between the Robins and another unnamed club. The source did not reveal which club.

A deal should be completed by the middle of next week.

If that unnamed club turns out to be us...

Yep, but you probably think 3 goals in 20 matches is a decent return Value for money, not so far

Well no. I think he should have a better return.

However, we didn't exactly provide him with much service did we.

You were being negative before he arrived. Just like you were with Hooper, Abdi and pretty much every f*cking player the club has ever signed.

This division is fair more advanced and harder to get out of then most of our fans think.

Villa signed McCormack for £12m, it didn't work out. So they bought Kodjia from Bristol for £15m, he got slightly injured (and was on African nations cup duty), so they bought Scott Hogan from Brentford for £12m. £39m in total for players unproven in the top league.

What Premier League team outside the top 6 spend this much?

All this and Villa finished 13th.

With the awesome Bruce in charge.

They had less of a meltdown than on here.

A bit with Hooper, but no, not with Abdi

Truthfully go through our signings in the last few years and tell us which ones you were remotely happy with.

I'm guessing about two, three tops.
