Quality player, always wants the ball, always makes himself available, similar to Shelvey,

could we pinch him off Fulham, along with their manager if Carlos goes.

Yeah good one. That's the spirit!!

There's thinking ahead.....and there's being very, very silly.

I wish blades mad would pinch you.

Decent player having the season of his life it seems.

Only problem would be how to fit him in our team. He plays the sort of role that Hooper and Nando want to play, almost a deep lying number 10 that ties midfield and attack together. Scholes-ish. So unless Nando leaves and Hooper get a long term knock again then I don't think we have a need for Cairney.

I guess one other way to fit him in would be dropping to 1 up top, and playing him along side Lee with Bannan/Hutch/Jones behind. But then we've got the issue of what we do with our 47 strikers.

Tbh our summer spending should probably be more focused on bringing in successors to players like Loovens, Pudil, Wallace, who aren't getting any younger.

They only paid 3mill for him.

Unbelievable signing.

Quite like McDonald as well, the two of them for 5mil is some good dealing by Fulham tbh.

That said, Bannan and Lee were both free weren't they?

You have got to be kidding!?! Everything went through him!

Phenomenal player, would fit here perfectly, arguably just what we need tbh

He might well be.

Wouldn't it decent that we do the mirror test before we bury the body tho?

Always do that yes. I'm amazed no one started a thread when CC was sacked. OT is slipping

Not much better than Bannan imho.

2016/17

Bannan -  Games 43 Goals 1 Assists 7

Cairney - Games 45 Goals 12 Assists 12

2015/16

Bannan - Games 35 Goals 2 Assists 2

Cairney - Games 39 Goals 8 Assists 6

Over two seasons Bannan has 3 goals and 9 assists in 78 games in comparison to Cairneys 20 goals and 18 assists in 84 games.
