Jack1991
Absolute massive loss if true. But we have a fantastic squad, we still haven't seen the best of Rhodes we also have won 6 on the bounce with forestieri hardy having a touch. Let's keep the faith! Love Hutch but he goes so deep at times. Leaves lots of space.

matt_johno43
Lets not kid ourselves Hooper has played very well since his return and our upturn in form has coincided with him coming back into the team as before we looked disjointed going forward and struggled to link midfield and attack. He has also brought out the best in Fletcher since his return so he is a big miss no doubt about it. That being said we have played Huddersfield already this year missing both Lee and Hooper and beaten them so we should in theory be able to cope. Who takes his place? I have no idea but it is fantastic to have the options that we do this season and really does show our squad depth, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a slight tweak to the system we have played in this winning run of late as there wasn't anybody before Hooper's return who stepped up and showed that they have the ability to play the role that he does within our starting 11. The current system with Lee and Bannan, and previously Jones and Bannan, has worked beautifully. Look no further. Hutch is a top player but falls back way too deep as a CM and we lose the midfield We also lack penetration. And as for playing Bannan wide left.......!!!!!!! Jim
A massive blow as he's been the catylyst for the recent run. Fletcher seems to be a better player alongside Hooper. Alas it provides an opportunity for someone else. Step forward Jordan Rhodes

I am now tending to agree with you on this one. Hutch is one of our best players and I like him in defensive midfield but maybe he should be only deployed there if we are playing a midfield 3. If it's 4-4-2, then he leaves the other centre mid with too much work to do,
19owl08
As a few have suggested already, I wouldn't be surprised to see a slight change of shape with Lee playing higher up. Carlos said Forestieri would t be fully fit for the rest of the season but not sure whether that included the play offs. Im guessing Hooper has gone to same specialist as Forestieri as hat was out in Spain too wasn't it?
Bouncing Owl
If Hooper is out, it is one hell of a blow. Him and Lee are pivotal to how we link the play. I just hope Nando can play a bigger part as I am not sure on Fletch and Rhodes.
MightyOwl
Bad news if true, Hooper is so key to how Carlos wants us to play. Its crazy how many injuries we seem to be suffering this season though and weird how so few on them actually happen in matches. Are we simply just rushing players back too quick? Are we training them too hard or is Hutch simply not holding back in training? We just need a consistent team from here on in and doubts like this hanging over the players doesn't help
Dylan93
"If Hooper is out" He's not Ronaldo! Yes, he's been like a new signing, linking the team together and being a constant threat, BUT! We can still win games. We still have enough to go up! The midfield will always be the key. At the beginning of the season it was a shambles. Far too many players when he can only pick 4. Carlos couldn't pick his best formula. April has been by far our most consistent month of the season and that's without Fessi and Hutch. It had a lovely balance with Reach, Wall, Ban, Lee/Jones and even Semedo.

My thoughts excactly I'd doubt a decent source would let slip and tell Howson that he's out for the play offs this early in the week and don't forget FF regularly leaves matches on crutches as a precaution
