joelswfc
Sounded like Reach played well and Winnall was involved. Didn't go so won't vote of course.
Groundhopping Owl
Reach. Created the goal and was at the heart of all the good moves we managed.

WhiteOwl91
Thought decent performances from Hunt, Lees, Reach, McManaman, Winnall, Fletcher also did well when on, But Ffs.
Mr. Tom
Didn't go so won't vote either, but listening in I got the impression: - Westwood did well and was unlucky to concede, although the team as a whole deserved to - Hunt made a couple of decent blocks and daft challenges, poor game management to give away a danger zone free kick in stoppage time - Lees and Loovens were ok, if oddly creaky first 20min - Fox got skinned a couple of times but made a great point-saving clearance - (Neither fullback really gave us anything going forward once again) - Reach was busy down the flanks, chased everything and obviously got the assist through industry, always sounded our most likely supplier of goals (possible MOM?) but still neither winger putting nearly enough into the box - Hutchinson evidently shouldn't have started really, didn't sound himself and his set pieces were fairly awful, good luck to him for a quick return to fitness after another frustrating afternoon - Jones, as ever, stayed under the radar all game so no real suggestion that he's doing anything especially good OR bad - Bannan struggled to exert any influence, whacked two shots into row Q (i've largely given up on expecting that side of his game to improve now) - McManaman sparkled up once or twice but generally a yard off the pace and quiet by his usual standards - Matias cameo reasonably perky but he sounds very lightweight now even for him, unsurprising I suppose - Winnall did well to handle the pressure/knocks (and a bonus point for his celebration - fair enough he'll always get a few boos at Oakwell but the weeks of dog's abuse they gave him when he left was pathetic), would probably give him MOM for us overall but only really for getting on the scoresheet when nobody else was going to - Rhodes barely a sniff, nothing coming into danger areas for him, must be finding it hard to enjoy our games but keeps going - Fletcher did fairly well at winning balls and holding it up when he came on, but no real strike threat as per Overall we sounded edgy and lacking in quality, both of which are pretty ridiculous given the calibre and experience of players we've got on the field. A draw at Oakwell isn't typically a poor result, and it was probably more than fair to us today, but given where we are it's bizarre that we didn't at least force Barnsely to really earn it. james o connor
Westwood 7 kept us in it a couple of times hunt 5.5 didn't really offer a deal lees 6 okay loovens 3 the bloke is vastly becoming a liability fox 5 isn't good enough mcmanman 6 did play unlucky not to score bannan 3 utter tripe. I'm still waiting to be told what he brings to the team reach 7 one of his better games Hutchinson n/a think knees given up for this year , played a lot of games winnall 6 glad to see him score Rhodes 5 not involved jones 6 solid enough but never offers anything and when your attacking midfielder is bannan he kind of has to offer so etching going forward fletcher 4 nuihu would have held the ball up better matias 6 not bad for his first game back king Carlos tactical genius 2 ... hopefully we won't endure his brand of 'football' for much longer

He is Carlos's golden boy, illustrated by the pointless article on the website during the week bigging him up.

popman
First half was as bad as it gets, we were slow and awful. We got a break thanks to Reach chasing a seeming lost cause (easily the highlight of the game) but we never really were in full control of the game which let them back in. They bullied us and apart from Winall nobody really stood up to them. As the game went on they got stronger and only a clearance denied them of a victory. Westwood- 7 Some decent saves. Hunt- 7 Always involved and did not do a lot wrong. Lees- 6.5 Good defending but poor in possession. Loovens- 3 Slow and a constant liability Fox- 6 A fair performance. McManaman- 6.5 Slow start but improved as the game went on. Hutchison- 5 Not at his best. Bannan- 4 Very poor, lacked energy and poor distribution Reach- 7.5 Got better when he switched wings and top notch assist. Winall- 7.5 Chased everything and took his goal well. MOM Rhodes- 4 Poor, his only touch in the box was his clearance when we were defending Jones- 4.5 How many times did the ball bounce over his head. Fletcher- 5 Better than Rhodes Marco- 6 Some decent touches. Carlos- Told us that we were much better for the work done during the international break. If this is the case then I shudder to think how much worse it could have got if we would have had a poor international break. Poor tactics and no passion. OwlofOliveGrove
I'll rate the only 3 players who were worth it: Westwood 6 Reach 7 Winnall 6 You don't wanna know the rest. On the balance of play it was a fair result. They tanned us in the first half and when we did our usual and started playing in the second half our shots (barring the goal) were all wayward. I thought Lees had a reasonable game, McManaman had a good spell once he was switched to the right and I actually felt that Fletcher gave us more shape when he came on. However, Fox, Loovens, Bannan & Jones were dismall, whilst Rhodes was non-existent.

I was there. He was very good when he came on. Won most headers, neat on the floor and played as well as a sub can having balls banged up to him. Reach was best on pitch for us with winnal... chased everything setup up goal and a couple of class flicks and setups in attacking moments
stanningtonowl
Every player 8. Carlos 9. Did well against a tough Barnsley team who will be up there at the end of the season............ Actually beyond Hunt, Winnall and Reach who had one of his better games the rest were poor. But did we expect any different? Any different on Tuesday night? A team that defend deep. More of the same I expect.
ash60s
5 = Loovens Hutch Bannon Rhodes 6 = Hunt Fox Macca Fletcher Jones 6.5 = Westwood Lees Matius 7 = Winnall 7.5 = Reach Should not have started Hutch, a week too early and a derby - are we THAT desperate??? Hunt stay on your feet particularly in that part of the match and area of pitch Fox should have scored - 2 legs means 2 feet - use the other one sometimes, good header off the line tho Winnall took his gift well silly yellow card tho but a tough day for him - why was the other goal disallowed? Rhodes - got no service so we got no end product - best thing he did was goalline clearance Loovens - good job he reads the game so well, either lazy, carrying a knock or age against him Lees - did well positive and covered Hunt & Loovens Bannon - was a favourite but sadly not putting extra effort in, coasting and didn't step up when Sam went off Macca - positive, had 2 decent chances but tired in 2nd half Mataius - positive return Jones - steady solid consistently unspectacular Reach - by far best today, tracked up n down all afternoon, decent delivery into box - still got slagged by a "fan" on RSheff P&G We under pressure now so got to change mentality, time now for leaders on pitch to step forward Gotta up the tempo, press high and get into their ribs, crosses, shots whatever it takes cos if we don't, well you know................. Groundhopping Owl
Westwood 7 - kept us in it with his usual array of excellent saves, though Barnsley were very wasteful with their finishing Hunt 7 - plenty of effort and looked dangerous. Inconsistent end product but he's holding down a place in the starting xi at present Lees 7 - competent, dealt with Bradshaw well Loovens 4 - defensively alright but Christ his distribution is getting slower every week, he kills our attacks before they've even started by allowing the opposition to have a tea break, perhaps pop to the loo then come back and get into shape before he picks his pass Fox 5 - skinned a few times, offered less than Hunt. He's learning, we'll see what he truly has to offer next season McManaman 5 - besides a dangerous 5 minutes at the end of the first half he looked off the pace Hutchinson 5 - a few good driving runs and lots of endeavour, unlucky to succumb to injury. Set pieces need work Bannan 4 - abysmal first half, improved second half when he linked up well with Reach a few times, though his service into the strikers was dire Reach 8 - MOTM. Created the goal and basically every other good move we had, chased down every loose ball and pressed consistently. Still looks a bit scared to take people on but a very solid outing Winnall 7 - when the ball fell to him I had a horrible premonition that the atmosphere would get to him and he'd miss - but he showed composure in scoring, before showing absolutely none in his celebration Rhodes 5 - couldn't get into it, cuts a frustrated figure Jones 6 - quietly competent Fletcher 6 - won a few headers, did alright Matias 6 - enjoyed his spark actually, there was an air of inventiveness around his game even in his 15 minute cameo
