lincolnowl
He needs dropping. He offered nothing today - not a single cross or a shot. CM went round more players (including the goalkeeper) in 10 minutes Reach has in all his games put together.

I personally would have rated Sam Winnall a lot more than a 6 today so it just shows that stats don't prove anything, if you insist on looking at the stats then surely mcmanaman deserves a run instead as he's played a lot less and is nearly on the same rating as reach. IstillhateSteveBould
I like him. He's an intelligent player and he's put in some very good performances. He does look short of confidence at the moment though. He was ineffective today. Worst thing for him right now is the crowd getting on his back. Some proper nobheads on the kop today giving him stick.
Guest ka58
I think reach will be ok and he's a good player. i also don't think anyone should be shouted down for saying he wasn't great today because he wasnt. what I like about him is he always puts his shift in - by no means a lazy player and gives good support to pudil. what I would say also is that I can't think of a single decent pass / cross of note or a good run or a moment where he beat a player. needs to start affecting things further up the pitch and not just be pudils protector. vulture_squadron
Spent most of first half defending. Second half he kept swapping positions with FF and RW and looked handy - used his height in the air to good effect a bit as well. One point he skinned three players and I wMore to come from him definitely.

All he's done is merely confused some who post on here. The old fashioned systems that British football supporters and players were brought up on is long gone. Under Carlos we have a shape and the players work within that framework. For instance when we play out from the back we go 3-5-2, in press-defence we are 4-5-1, in attack we are 4-4-2 and the players are comfortable back-filling their mates when it necessitates it. It's not "oh he's a left winger, and he's a centre forward" anymore. Players seem very capable of filling other positions despite their "own". If what we've seen the last 3 and a half matches are Carlos's plans he needs to have a word with himself. Its been awful.Back back sideways back hooooof. However, using the exact same criteria and stats it shows he is the 4th most useful player in the squad, so maybe a bit of a witch hunt going on because of his transfer fee and maybe some people see what they want to see. Which on today's evidence possibly includes me, or maybe i just don't like players singled out when it isn't universally deserved! I would really be happy if he produced great performances week after week. Was excited when we signed him, but he seems a shadow of the player we thought we were getting. Either he's 4.5 mill over priced or Carlos is asking him to play a role he isn't happy with but dare not complain in case he is sidelined the same as Abdi, Magugan, Lachman etc. Shame but something needs to change. Ronio
I like the player. One thing I don't get is why did we give him the no.9 shirt. I'd much prefer no.9 being given to one of our top strikers.

"There are lies, damn lies and statistics". I still feel however, that the most outrageous statistics are preferable to a witch hunt against a 23 year old player, who runs his b****ocks off and his only crime seems to be that he cost 5 Mill !! Ps. Stats don't prove anything, but by the same token, Opta stats are the yardstick used to assess all aspects of individual contribution at any given time throughout the game. You personally may have assessed Sam Winnall as a lot more than a 6 and i wouldn't disagree, but they take a scientific approach to it, devoid of our bias or emotional assessment. Also as with any stats, it is much easier to impress over a very short period (McManaman & Winnall) than it is for Reach (20 games). Don't really get the degree of criticism of Reach to be honest and this (whatever you think of them) is backed up by the stats over 20 games. I go on what I see week after week. I want Reach to do well because we benefit if he does. However what I see is poor week after week. Oh and I don't believe Abdi is injured eiither. And McGugan is a better player/sub than Semedo or Sogou so don't agree he isn't good enough.
