Sam Winnall Signs - OFFICIAL

Recommended Posts

You'll have to excuse the brevity and slightly lazy approach (I'm sure none of you care!) very busy at the moment! But as a 'fun' comparison, looking at Jordan Rhodes' last full year with Blackburn in the 2014/2015 season (21 goals in 45 games), compared with Winnall's so far:

Rhodes (per 90 mins):

Total shots- 3.5

On target- 1.1 (31%)

Goals- 0.5

Shots needed to score- 7

Winnall (per 90 mins):

Total shots- 2.7

On target- 1.1 (41%)

Goals- 0.6

Shots needed to score- 5

Know it doesn't prove owt as doesn't show type of chances, ease of chance etc... but he's got a much more ruthless conversion rate than Rhodes did in one of his many 20+ goal seasons.

I'm assuming that that's from the beeb, I'd trust whoscored.com over that, but it's all going to depend on what stat man decides what constitutes a shot etc. There's little wonder there's discrepancy between the two. Squawka says 54%, albeit it in 17 appearances rather than the 22 league appearances he's made

All immaterial, I'm being consistent with the sources so if there's any balancing issues you'd like to think it'd apply to both players equally. Doesn't negate the point that he's doing a good job (which is what I was saying! )
