This is my attempt at nipping it in the bud, for my sins
Bluesteel
Buchan also suggests 500k is the fee and that the battle will be won on wages. Could be tricky to beat Norwich again.
Athelwulf
500 K isn't much for Winnall, even if he is out of contract at the end of the season. They'd be better off keeping him. We paid £800 000 for May 3 years ago.

Had a feeling this would happen, when you look at the leading scorers chart Winnall is pretty much the best striker that is available to get at the moment. He's fourth in the goals per minute chart with only Gayle, Murray and Wood ahead of him. All of which are playing in better teams. peterbottom14
Wouldn't he have to up sticks and move if Norwich was the preferred destination. Surely he'd want to stay in this area.
Groundhopping Owl
I'm surprised Norwich are in for him. Aren't they satisfied with Oliveira, who's banging them in, plus Jerome, Murphy and Lafferty?

peterbottom14
Maybe us bidding has put a few more clubs on alert who need a striker. He's the cheap option for how many he's scored this season and you could say there's a few teams who have had trouble scoring goals. Maybe a few teams will have bids accepted and it'll come down to wages.

full fathom five
I think Winnall lives in Doncaster and did when he was at Scunthorpe United just what some Dingle fans have been saying.
Spookone
I think he is worth paying decent money to get him in if you look at what other more "fashionable" strikers are being offered at.

There's probably a similiar post on the Norwich forum about us asking why aren't we satisfied with having Hooper, Fletcher, Forestieri and Joao. gurujuan
Still can't see what all the fuss is about really Last time there was such a clamour for such an average player, I think was the Stevie May fiasco This has the potential to go the same way
peterbottom14
500k seems almost robbery for him. youve got to question the internal workings of a club who lets a player run his contract down so that the power favours buying clubs. Surely you'd start nogotiations at the start of the season or put plans in place to sell him if he wouldn't sign, they've left it late and now he could go for peanuts. Average players will go for a lot more cash this window than we'd spend here.
