Lee - hip surgery

Recommended Posts

Get well soon to the lad.

A terrific little player, a real ticker, always on the move.

Do we know exactly what he's had done?

It's not as if he's going to have had the old metal ball joint put in is it.

Some sort of minor tear? Bit of tendinitis?

Who knows. But good speed in recovery KL.

Seems a super fit lad, hopefully respond well to the surgery.

We're absolutely Donald ducked now. Like one of those posh cars with the engine removed

Gutted.

Time for Abdi to get fit and step up?

Bannan play the Lee role if asked or can he only play behind the ball?

Controversial suggestion, once Hopper is fit, play him up top with Fletch and play Forestieri alongside Hutch in midfield with Wallace and McManaman out wide.

I'm just praying this operation has properly sorted the problem and it isn't gonna be something that lingers over him even when he's back. Would love to see him back to his best soon!

Its no surprise really with the amount of games he's been playing these past few seasons, injuries normally find a way of catching up with players. Turns out he's not a machine after all. Explains a lot about his dip in form up to and including the wolves game.

Disappointing to lose him but we've got to get on with it.

It's a big loss but it should give Abdi a chance to show what he can do.

He's yet to play as the attacking CM in a 2 and i'd like to see him given a run of games in that position.

Just shows you for all you big money foreign signings (that have not had a 100% success rate for Wednesday) you can still find better English players in the lower leagues if they are given more opportunity.

Hope to see him playing again soon.

Been watching him for about 3 years and never seen him stop running.

Is that why he has a knackered hip?

I didn't see the news as a big shock, He was probably jogging on the spot waiting for his anaestheticto kick in,

Prob been at bursting point - Pretty much played every game since Dave Jones got sack -

Immense player - Gutted,

Well played in CC bringing them million CM's in, Though a  few need to start reading the praise on here for Kieran Lee and understand what it takes,

Usually for sportsmen footballers in particular it's a tear to the soft tissue around the socket of the hip joint (labrum).

Surgery is by keyhole to reattach the labrum and clean out any debris.

Any recovery less than three months would be remarkable.

Do you know this for certain as you're describing osteoarthritis which would require a replacement hip.

If you're correct then he would never play professionalaly again.

Might it prompt a return for Gibson? I hope not, we already have similar in Jones, and in my opinion it should be a like for like replacement. We need to replace that energy, so we not to find an all action right footed roadrunner, who could slot seamlessly into the roll vacated by Lee

Huge loss to us but not unexpected Mystery is why we are all of a sudden playing injured players ?

You could see Lee was in discomfort in the first half v Wolves

Also Carlos has said we need 2 players for each position so  CM   Hutch Jones Abdi Bannan   , if we need to replace Lee does that mean that Abdi is not in contention or on his way ?

I don't know about hips but if this happens on knees they do micro fracture surgery to stimulate cartilage growth from the scar tissue.

I had this op...wasn't very successful like :/
