Used to be great getting in after a session in the Travellers, eating a pie walking up the steps which seemed to go on forever as the players came out. Hirst header against Man U - everyone just went mad - bodies all over. Remember Viv Anderson's late headed winner against West Ham - we all inhaled trying to suck the ball in - it worked. I get nervy thinking of leaning back onto something not very substantial up there! the crowd wasn't up against the fence at the back as such.. you cant see it from the photo but there was a stepped causeway running up along the back of the supporters..

Mickjj
Great picture of the USA TV channel ABC filming the 200th Steel City derby, September 1966. It ended a 2-2 draw.

Guest
I took this from the roof of the South, the day of the Derby against the grunters when Steve Watson scored the winner. Think it was 2008/2009 The Royal Marines display team abseiled the match ball in two, dressed as Barny and Ozzy Owl then had a fight amongst ourselves on the pitch at half time.
