Yeah if you have a city only just smaller than ours and have only one club in it, you're bound to expect good away support - and they do deserve the plaudits for their away support.

Home support is pretty embarrassing though. Partly due to running of club I imagine, but still...

Leeds is not a smaller City than ours, the population of Leeds is over 751.000, Sheffield's poupulation is Only 563.000, some 33/34% Lower.

Newcastle can have a vote when they have been out of the PL for 16 years.  We'll see if they're still getting 50,000 then.

As for Leeds.  They were in The Champions League 14 years ago.  They had 5 years in a row between '98 and '02 when they finished in the top 5 of the PL every season.  A chance to build up their fan numbers considerably.

Despite this and despite the fact that they have had lower prices than us last season and this season.

Despite the fact they are above us this season.

They still are getting lower gates than us.  So you can stick their away support up their arse.

After the Wolves match we'll be averaging more than Brighton who are in a spanking new stadium and looking certainties for the top 2.

There is only one winner of that poll and that is the Super Owls!

Excuses

Newcastle and Leeds are bigger clubs with bigger supports.

Trotting out the 16 years of crap claptrap is tedious now.

Our support has been just above average for years.

Wednesday have been another surprise package this year as they continue to defy expectation and belief. They currently sit in seventh place with 34 points as a play-off place is within their reach

How can you say our support has been just above average? We have been out of the top flight for the best part of a generation, prior to last season we had finished in the top 30 in England once in 15 years.

Tell me how well Newcastle were supported before they got back into the top flight at the start of the PL boom......

Both Newcastle & Leeds are 1-club cities. Sheffield's combined support if far batter than Leeds.

Very average ST sales for years.

Very low PL attendances after 1993 and some pretty shabby away attendances.

Barely scraping 19k when home to Yorkshire sides live on Sky

19k home fans v Pigs in Owusu game?

Taking 1000 to Leeds every year.

Myths about selling out many away games.

We have big crowds when it is dirt cheap tickets and massive games.

Apart from that it is bang average crowds in a stadium too big for us and ok away attednances

Selling out very few away games?

You seem very critical.

The stats about our away following are not myths, we are consistently in the top 6 if not top 2 or 3 in the division for away following despite spending most of the time in the bottom 6 in the table, how is that poor?

Our large stadium doesn't help the atmosphere or look of the crowd but averaging around or over 20,000 having spend more than a decade between divisions 2 and 3 is not bad, how many more teams have managed that level of support during one of the worst periods in their history?

Why have you chosen to highlight the poor crowd for the derby 14 years ago to make a point? By the same token we could say how many teams have attracted 36,000 home fans for a league game against Wycombe?

Were our PL attendances that low in comparison to the whole of the PL at the time, especially for a team on the slide?

Newcastle didn't have 15 years of dross in the 80's & 90's but a just a couple of bad seasons hit their crowds much harder than ours.

Newcastle

sheffield wednesday

leeds united

aston villa

in that order

Newcastle are awesome fans simple as that.

Wednesday will always travel and generate 20-25 at home thousand regardless. Away support is amongst the best I've ever seen (Watford away when you stopped us winning league)

Leeds fans in my opinion are a bit delusional but follow and support regardless,  even though I can't stand the club the fans turn out so fair is fair.

Aston Villa I see on par with Wednesday good club with a good honest fan base home and away.

The rest seem just seem to be caught up in a moment, where the bigger clubs have the roots.

As a watford fan thats my take on the best fans in the championship.

Special mention for forest aswell quality club, but fans seem to have give up...

Happily admit Leeds' away support is fantastic, but they use that to disguise the fact their home support is absolutely garbage. Leeds is the UK's third biggest city and there's only one football team in it, yet their game against Newcastle was the first time they had sold out since 2010.

Leeds do well for away games as they have supporters all over the country from their times in the 70s, you notice the difference in their home crowds when they are at home midweek to being home on a Saturday, they don't just drop by a couple of thousand, it is drastic down by 5,6 or 7 thousand, recently they had over 31,000 at home to villa then the next game they were down to 21,000 midweek at home to reading, a drop of 10,000, it is simple the southern Leeds fans don't travel up midweek, but attend many away games down south.

Jeese, if some of our own supporters can't vote for us in a peetake poll what chance does Mr C have of trying to drive loyalty ?

no wonder so many young kids today claim to support the bigger "brand names" in football rather than their local club..

It just goes to show how many soft do gooders there are around, bring on feckin Brexit !
