mike312
Can't see him winning an appeal against that sort of thing, if he's made racial remarks they tend to be pretty sure before dishing out bans and stuff. Good for us as he pulls the strings for them.
The Fish
Aye he'll be available for your visit, but he might be left out while the appeal is ongoing with a ban looming. Bad news for us, but if he's found guilty after the appeal he 100% deserves at least a 5 game ban. There's a good feeling around Newcastle at the minute (Rafa's certainly turned thigns around on and off the pitch), so we could well do without something as unpalatable as all this. The incident sounds unusual as he apparently said something to their Moroccan player who doesn't speak English and another player translated the abuse. Could be a case of Chinese whispers, but it could just be the unsurprising news that Jonjo Shelvey is a bit of a cnut.

OwlTimer
Nobody can put forward any logical reason why we can beat Newcastle. The table doesn't lie. They've scored 19 more goals than us. Their goals are 45-17, ours is 26-23, GD of +28 against ours of +3. They average 2 goals a game, we average slightly over 1. They are at home with a much more fanatical crowd behind them than us. They are a better team than us. Thankfully, logic doesn't always work in football but it will take something different or unusual (very different or very unusual) to happen on the day for us to win. Let's hope it does.

cowl
They've not won at home in the league this season unless they've scored in the first 25 minutes. So keep them quiet for 25 minutes and the rest should be easy! Edited December 20, 2016 by edwardjameswells
Steelman
It would be typical of us to have been playing like we have for the last few weeks and then go there and beat them. Would be funny as f.u.c.k.to spoil Sky's inevitable Newcastle jizz fest.
The Fish
A Shelvey-less Newcastle will be an entirely different animal. So far he's been pinging Hollywood balls all over the shop. Hayden has a good range of passing and may be deputised into that role, we might go out and sign someone who can provide that kind of creativity, or Rafa might put more emphasis on the widemen like Ritchie, Atsu and Gouffran. If he's said something untoward he wants booting all over the training ground mind, idiotic behaviour that could interfere with our plans.

1/10/1983
Before Shelvey was banned I was thinking 3-0 Newcastle. If Shelvey appeals and plays; 3-0 Newcastle. If not, I reckon 3-0 Newcastle. Just keeping expectations low so our unexpected victory is as sweet as...

gazzamk2
Really looking forward to this one. Boxing day bliss in front of the gogglebox. Just hoping for a blood and thunder showing to be proud of from the Owls and hopefully get a result. My score prediction is 2-2, Gayle x2, Fessi and a Wallace 30 yarder UTO

asteener1867
Be overjoyed with a point....Was there when Shelton got the winner...and sadly when the Geordies got 8. Intimidating place to go, but keep 'em quiet for 30 minutes and you never know..proper football club, proper fans, proper kit (proper stripes) Best thing about their supporters is they are as deluded as us...nowt wrong with that...Delusion has kept me goin' since the 60's
