Now that is one that should come back, I know it was seen as a Manure song but it so fitted in with the Big Ron era (him being ex Manure), it epitomised the fun at the games back then, throwing soft toys, believing we would win every game and just kicking the poo out of the opposition (on the pitch)....

Carlos may be good but the feeling and atmosphere aint anything like it was back then... but that could just me being an old fart with rose couloured spectacles, oop's, make them blue & white ones lol

You quite sure about that because I remember singing it all the way through the second half in April '82 at Watford (we were 4-0 down by half time).

Gotta say I missed the early 80's due to getting a new wife shortly followed by kids and finding I liked driving fast (and being driven) through woods (ooh err !), but I thought that song was always attributed to Manure even though I always thought it was or should have been ours, either way it should come back now, it's the equivalent of clapping a player when he makes mistakes lol

Bring it on !

Oh mi lads , you should have seen us coming

There we were in blue and white

There we were a running

All the lads and lasses

All the smiling faces

Running down the Penistone Road

To see Jack Charltons aces

Utah will correct me if I'm wrong

Damn right I will!!!!!

Oh mi lads

You should have seen us coming

There we were in blue and white

All the reds were running

All the lads and lasses

All wi' smiling faces

Going down the Penistone Road to see the Wednesday (or alternatively managers name) aces.

It was Jack Charlton's aces when he was the boss but we had sung it before (Geordies been singing it since Adam were a lad).

One of my favourites was always

Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield Wednesday

We'll support you evermore

We'll support you evermore

Of course in the dark days of the 75/76 season during the second half of the season when it truly was desperate the last line got altered to:

Even in Division 4!

Oh to have a memory like yours , think they should bring that back with "Carlos's Aces" , a classic.

But then it could have been..

Wednesday's here

Wednesdays there

Wednesdays every feckin where

as the East Bank goes rolling along..

Feckin frightening to think how many of us on here could have been stood next to each other back then, especially given how low the crowds were..

Absolutely this!

Especially if you were at the Colchester home game in March 1976 (all 6,905 of us). It was so bad the few of us that were there were singing:

We are the last of

The last of the Kop!

Over hills

Over dales

We will follow the Wednesday trail

as the East Bank goes marching along..

I seem to recall the 3rd line was

Wednesday aggro never fails!

Used to love this one:

Tiptoe through the Shoreham

With your handbag and your plastic flick-knife

Tiptoe through the Shoreham with me

followed by the second verse of

Tiptoe through the East Bank

With your hatchet and your sawn off shotgun

Tiptoe through the East Bank with me

another favourite was when the cockneys used to taunt us with "Have you ever had a job?" and we'd respond with:

Hi-ho, Hi-ho

To work we will not go

It's up at one and then sign on

Hi-ho, Hi-ho, Hi-ho

and repeat.

Reyt part timer me, then and now...

But I have stood on the away end at Carlisle in mid winter !
