Why was the crowd so quiet for the first 60 minutes today? It's been particularly quiet for the last three or four home games and, generally, the atmosphere has been on the wane for a few years now.  Why?

Atmosphere`s havnt been the same anywhere since the killjoys ordered all seater stadiums.

At least 100 had been in Sheridans lounge and were still in shock at being fleeced.

Played well for a few minutes and scored then started the dreaded sideways and backwards stuff  that encourages the opponents onto the attack.

Only Reach and Hutch playing forward passes then Hutch goes back 4 Hunt doesn't play Buckley in when we could attack.

This stuff puts the crowd to sleep.

Positive attacking football is what we expect now. Not just for 8 minutes until we score a goal.

CC was getting annoyed with the crowd apathy today.

He was indeed...getting very frustrated with the lack of noise especially from the south.

Hutches three tackles was the turning point...from then on the crowd started to contribute to the game...

Fans at home this season seem to have a self entitled expectation that we will easily win all teams.  And then whine, moan and ***** at how incredibly terrible we were if we don't, totally ignoring the last 15 years with their goldfish memories and the reality that we won't win every match.  Do we blame dc with that throwaway comment about promotion?  It's created a new breed of man babies that attend the matches,

This has transcended to the children that they bring with them....and the myth that has developed that ff is the new maradona and can simply waltz past defenders and score from 40 yards every ten minutes.

Think it started at Wembley with many fans thinking we could just turn up for promotion.

There was a bloke on the North on Saturday who told another fan off for standing up and shouting at the ref and lino - god knows why, as everyone else was standing up and shouting at the ref and lino too. It was bizarre. And no, the fan wasn't swearing (he had a kid with him). Not allowed to show a bit of passion or anger after a crap week at work - what has the game become?!

The tempo we play at currently is so slow that it is hard to get excited. I want to see up and at 'em football not a game of chess. zzzzzzz.

endless sideways passing in midfield/defence... how can a crowd get passionate and involved in that ????? it kills the game (as coaches intend it to)  and the atmosphere - not so hard to understand really

Probably because at home this season we've been dull as dishwater to watch.

Bloody Hell !!!

You obviously never went to watch the team when Stuart Gray was in charge.:stuwinky:

How things have changed so quickly.

It's depressing how expectations have completely changed and now people seem to think theyre going to the pantomime to be entertained.

Completely agree. One Wembley appearance and the expactation levels from the whole place is ridiculous. We're doing better in a tougher league than last season and we're all sat there waiting for football to make us lively. What happened to going to a ground singing, shouting and excited? We're more likely to win at home than we've ever been but the atmosphere is dead.

No idea what but something needs to change atmospherewise, I propose that it's us. Make some chuffing noise you chuffers.

Atmosphere always drops this time of year. Even when we scored on Saturday...it was a damp squib of a celebration.

Probably see a rise come the Rotherham/Barnsley games...& even then it'll drop if they're awful games.

Rises again come March time if we're in with a shout of doing something in the league.

Been the same for a while. Not sure why anyone's shocked.
