Hardest Sheffield Wednesday player ever?

Recommended Posts

Vic Mobley actually showed how tough he was, in the '66 semi at Villa Park, Gary Shelton showed it in the 70's at Craven Cottage, when he was obviously badly injured, but Tony Toms made him stay on the pitch, which he did, before succumbing to a (I' m positive) broken ankle which kept him out for twelve weeks. Toughest in my time though, have to be Gerry Young, closely followed by Don Megson

Don Megson only full back/defender who to this day I've ever seen consistently tackle face/head on defenders normally go side on or two footed if they ever go head on.

Dont suppose many will back me up tworalontimeago.

Swan, Kay, Warboys and Lyons.

Don't think any of the modern breed o footballer come anywhere near ...or would be allowed to.

One of my earliest football memories is of Peter Swan parting Derek Pace's (Blades centre forward for the yougsters)with his studs as he went for a header at Hillsborough.

The ref just wagged his finger and carried on.
