Wolfmanjack Posted November 23, 2016 Share Posted November 23, 2016 Vic Mobley actually showed how tough he was, in the '66 semi at Villa Park, Gary Shelton showed it in the 70's at Craven Cottage, when he was obviously badly injured, but Tony Toms made him stay on the pitch, which he did, before succumbing to a (I' m positive) broken ankle which kept him out for twelve weeks. I remember him stood in front of the Kop at Bumhole Lane conducting the Wednesday fans behind the goal. His battles with Dereck Dougan in particular were legendary. One of my earliest football memories is of Peter Swan parting Derek Pace's (Blades centre forward for the yougsters)with his studs as he went for a header at Hillsborough.
