Benjani
The ball stopped sticking up front as soon as Hooper went off - he was causing their centre backs all sorts of problems. I thought Fletcher would give them even more to think about with his physical presence, but he didn't do much at all. Their centre backs were far more comfortable when he came on. oldishowl
I don't understand what people expect. Do they think we are going to go away to a decent team who are on a good run and dominate the whole game. We were the better team first half and scored a really good goal. It was even in the second half until they had to go for it last 15 mins. We needed a second goal when we were on top , had chances , didn't take one Even at 1-1 FF had a shot that their keeper was lucky to keep out
Guest The Horse
The most common result in football history is 1-0. We just need to tighten up and we'll be fine... "In 188,060 league games, the final tally was most often 1-0, proof, for Curley, that soccer was as low-scoring as he suspected." Felt the midfield faded and sat too deep. But I'm not sure why Westwood thinks the balls a hot potatoe at the min. These hit them on the break kicks needed to stop with 10 mins left Edited November 21, 2016 by ViolaOwls
Rogerwyldesmullet
I am by nature a footy pessimist and was absolutely chilled until the last 15. We were a class above them for most of that game - sat in a pub after with 3 Fulham season ticket holders whose diagnosis was the same. They said that if we got up to the prem we had enough good footballers to make a go of it but that the lack of a mean streak might cost us. BTW they rated Tom Lees very highly. Re Fletcher v Hooper - Fletcher won more in the air but was flicking on rather than holding up. First half Hooper seemed to somehow use his arse to win aerial battles - well timed shoves better than well timed leaps. We mixed it really well first period between holding it up and knocking it long. Bilko meets Carlos! Loved it. Last ten they threw a few more forward and they got a reward but we should have been out of sight by then. I do think we are trying to score perfect goals. Have a ruddy dig lads!!! Lastly - hope Fessi stays. Thought he was very good and didn't get the rub of the green from the ref.
oldishowl
As I said in another thread, Lees absolutely bossed Martin and I don't think it was a coincidence that Loovens was back at the side of him
