Animis
some memorable games there - a couple i can't see mentioned: 2-1 Southend 1976 last game that kept us out ot the 4th tier; 3-2 against Man U in 91 coming back from 1-2 down. I also think the Di Canio game against Arsenal will always be up there - a sort of JFK moment.

The_eyes_have_it
That 3-3 draw with Man Utd on boxing day was a great game looking back - but didn't feel that way at full time....

philby
Boxing Day massacre 5-4 v Man U - came back a day early from holiday 2nd Santos game - not a brilliant game really but an event 2-1 v Carlisle The Cardiff game last season Am sure I will have missed plenty of great games out in between times but there has been so much crud at times that I think the memories have been pushed deep down. Utah Owl
These are may choices although many are memorable for the impact on the season (and on me personally) rather than the football (which in many cases was dire). In chronological order: Dec 1971 v Norwich 1-1 (my first game at Hillsborough) Feb 1973 v Chelsea 1-2 (FA Cup 5th round - first time when I saw Hillsborough packed) May 1974 v Bolton 1-0 (late winner from Ken Knighton to keep us up) Dec 1974 v Manure 4-4 (just a great game) Mar 1976 v Colchester 1-0 (lowest post war crowd on record and we needed an 87th minute og) May 1976 v Southend 2-1 (the game that saw us avoid relegation to div 4 final game in a run of 5 consecutive home wins which kept us up) Dec 1979 - I'll let everyone guess which one! Nov 1983 v Geordies 4-2 fantastic game and atmosphere Feb 1984? v Liverpool 2-2 (really should have won, dodgy penalty near end spared their blushes) Feb 1985 v Chelsea 4-4 (spectacular cup tie that in true Wednesday fashion we threw away) Shortly afterwards I left the UK mainland so although I get to the odd game (and they mean a lot to me) I don't get to see that many memorable performances. I would however put in a shout for the Johnstone's Pain Trophy game against Chess 6 years ago purely for that incredible penalty shootout! Oh and also the fun day in the snow v Arsenal back in '79.
