The week before last we lost Les this week we loose Phil Hayes RIP to both of you ! As Vic used to say we've had some great days but mainly bad days.

top bloke we started going to away games with phil(darnall)about 1977,we where only 14,but phil and all lads allways looked out for us,all top lads.rip phil

That's 3 gone this year what I know of, Toomi earlier this year, he was one of 70s gang along with my Uncle Lionel who we lost only a few years ago.

Les was a top man had met him a few times in the sporty, good mates with my wife's dad. Smashed me at pool.

 

Will be missed by all.

For anyone who knew Phil his funeral will take place 1.30 on fri the 7th at st josephs handsworth and then on to city rd. For younger generations thes were the sort of people who went to filbert st to watch us v arsenal having filled 3 coaches they could'nt get another so the only thing they could get was a skip wagon which they took with a tarpaulin over! Fortunately i wwnt abit after that and it was usualy by coach or van and also a massive removal lorry for the semi at villa with all the tables and chairs out of the woodbourne
