Mid Wicket
We have loads of options now, given a few more games players like Jones, Abdi and Reach are going to improve us. It is up to Carlos to man manage them and pick his best side. I have not got a clue or even care which system we play as long as we improve and attack those top 6 positions giving us a chance of promotion. The rest of the squad should be striving to join the elite. Injuries, suspensions, lack of form etc are the way in.......if you're good enough. I'm sure there's plenty who cry about players being overworked...I'm not one of them. Carlos seems to wet nurse his players . I don't think it works. for me its horses for courses ,play the players and system you think can do best against the opposites of the day .i honestly dont think we have a 1st eleven imo its more a 1st sixteen with a few fringe players making up the rest of the squad ............i dont think carlos wet nurses players any more than most other managers do .the days of clubs like liverpool winning the league and only using 14 players are long gone . spike1867
In response to the OP.............Loovens or Pudil dependent on opposition. Westwood Lees Hutchinson Loovens/Pudil Buckley Lee Bannan Forestieri Reach Hooper Fletcher but just for fun................ Westwood Huchinson Lees Loovens Hunt Jones Pudil Bannan Buckley Joao Forestieri
kendoddsdadsdogsdead
I posted a few times about playing 3 at the back. With Jones as a holding midfielder it gives us enough coverage. It also allows our 'skill' position players to be accommodated, and offers flexibility. Abdi doesn't figure, however he could play the FF role and Hooper and FF could swap as required. So if I was asked right now my best starting 11 it would be as follows -: Westwood Lees. Hutch. Loovens Lee Bannan Jones Reach FF Hooper. Fletcher

DuttyTeabags
Loovens played Dev game so don't think he'll be rushed back.

Yes I know he joined as a right back but was just ok there, not great. No evidence he's a better right back than Palmer or Hunt (quite the opposite in fact). He's become an excellent central midfielder, but putting him ahead of Palmer or Hunt at RB - in a thread calling for the best team, not favourite individuals - seems extremely odd... I think because he is a better player than palmer and he's played there before. We have too many good midfielders to all play at once ,so trying him at right back where we haven't been overly strong seems a reasonable shout to me. Could be that it wouldn't work as well in practice but I personally don't think it's odd
